⚠️ Deep Apostasy
✨ When Wrong Paths Lead Further and Further Away
🌐 Read online here
📍 Introduction
2 Chronicles chapter 28 shows one of the darkest periods in the kingdom of Judah. Under King Ahaz, the path not only leads away from God but deeper and deeper into wrong decisions. It is a chapter about apostasy, consequences, and yet surprising moments of grace.

🧵 Commentary
Ahaz becomes king and consciously chooses against God’s way. He not only adopts false practices but goes even further than many before him.
Idolatry is openly practiced. Sacrifices are offered—even in extreme and shocking ways. It is a deep break from everything the people once knew.
The consequences do not delay.
Enemies attack, and the kingdom grows weaker. Defeats increase. People are taken captive, and cities are lost. It is as though the wrong path keeps intensifying.
And yet, in the middle of this darkness, something unexpected happens.
In the northern kingdom—which itself is not faithful—men arise who intervene. They stop the mistreatment of captives, care for them, provide for them, and bring them back.
A moment of humanity and grace—in a place where one would hardly expect it.
But Ahaz himself does not change.
Even in the crisis, he does not seek God but turns even further away. He even destroys things that were once intended for worship.
The chapter ends without true repentance. A path that consistently leads downward.

🛡️ Faithfulness in the Midst of the World
📍 Introduction
Solomon’s story is not just history—it is a serious warning.
⋯⋯⋯⋯⋯⋯⋯⋯⋯⋯◆⋯⋯⋯⋯⋯⋯⋯⋯⋯⋯
🧵 Commentary
Israel’s decline did not begin with one great step but with many small changes. Selfishness, pride, and worldliness slowly spread.
The same thing happens today. People can do God’s work and yet inwardly lose their connection with Him.
That is why God’s church needs more than organization, knowledge, or success. It needs a spirit of devotion, humility, and love.
Only when people truly give God the glory and deny themselves can His light clearly shine into this world.

🧺 Summary
Solomon’s story shows how dangerous pride, selfishness, and spiritual neglect can become.

🔦 Message for Us Today
Only a humble heart can credibly reflect God’s light.

📝 Reflection
Where do I need once again a spirit of devotion instead of the desire for recognition?
