👑 The King Is Coming Soon – Hope Beyond the End

❤️ April 18 – The Sheep and the Goats: Love as the Measure

Monthly Theme: The Signs of the Times – Watch and Pray
Yearly Theme 2026: “The King Is Coming Soon – Hope Beyond the End”

📖 Central Bible Text of the Day

“And the King will answer and say to them, ‘Truly I say to you, whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers of Mine, you did for Me.’”
Matthew 25:40

🌅 Devotional Thought of the Day

When Jesus speaks about the end of time,
He does not first lead us to great events,
but to a simple, profound truth:

Love will be the measure.

The image of the sheep and the goats is clear.
Two groups stand before the King.
Both have lived, believed, and acted.

But in the end, a difference is revealed,
that was not always visible:
the heart.

The Quiet Language of Love

The righteous are not praised for spectacular achievements.
They are not highlighted for great sermons or impressive deeds.

But for something that is often overlooked:

They saw.
They acted.
They loved.

They did not ignore the hungry.
They did not turn away from strangers.
They did not avoid suffering.

And yet, they were hardly aware of it.

This is the secret of true love:
It does not seek itself.
It does not keep score.
It acts from a transformed heart.

🌿 Recognizing Christ in Others

Jesus says something astonishing:
What we do to a person,
we do to Him.

This changes our perspective.

Every person becomes an encounter with Christ.
Every situation an opportunity
to make His love visible.

Ellen G. White wrote:
“In the needy we meet Christ Himself; in serving them, we serve Him.”
(The Desire of Ages, p. 641)

🕊️ A Faith That Becomes Visible

Faith is not only an inner confession.
It becomes visible in life.

Not perfect,
not flawless,
but real.

A heart touched by God
begins to see differently and act differently.

Ellen G. White wrote:
“The love for Christ is revealed in love for others.”
(Christ’s Object Lessons, p. 384)

🌄 The Hidden Difference

The two groups in the parable may have had much in common.
But the difference was within.

Some lived from their connection with Christ —
others did not.

And this became visible in everyday life.

Not through big decisions,
but through many small ones.

🙏 Prayer

Dear Father in heaven,
thank You that Your love can transform my heart.

Help me to see others with Your eyes
and not overlook their needs.

Teach me not only to believe,
but to act in love.

Let my life be a reflection of Your goodness,
in small things as well as great.

Amen.
