πŸ›‘οΈ May 15 – The Assurance of Salvation: Secure in Christ

Monthly Theme: The Cross and the Second Coming – The Victory of Love
Yearly Theme 2026: β€œThe King Is Coming Soon – Hope Beyond the End”

πŸ“– Central Bible Verse of the Day

β€œI have written these things to you who believe in the name of the Son of God so that you may know that you have eternal life.”
β€” 1 John 5:13

πŸŒ… Devotional of the Day

Many people live in faith and yet still carry a quiet uncertainty within them. They wonder whether they are truly accepted, whether their faith is enough, or whether they will stand firm in the end. But the Bible shows that God wants us to have assurance.

This assurance is not based on our feelings or our achievements, but on what Christ has done. At the cross, everything necessary for our salvation was accomplished. Whoever places their trust in Jesus may know that they are accepted.

That does not mean we will never experience doubts or struggles. But our security is not found in our own strength, but in God’s faithfulness. He holds firmly what we entrust to Him.

✨ Assurance Through God’s Promise

God speaks not only of hope, but of assurance. His Word is trustworthy, and His promises are certain.

Ellen G. White wrote:
β€œOur assurance is not in ourselves, but in the faithfulness of God and in the merits of Christ.”
(Steps to Christ, p. 72)

This assurance brings inner peace and removes fear of the future.

🌿 Trust Instead of Self-Examination

It is good to examine our own lives. But when our focus is constantly fixed on ourselves, we easily lose the joy and security of faith.

The Bible invites us to fix our eyes on Christ. There we find the foundation of our hope.

Ellen G. White wrote:
β€œLooking to Christ brings peace, while looking at oneself brings unrest.”
(Steps to Christ, p. 71)

πŸ•ŠοΈ Security in the Relationship

Assurance grows within a relationship. Whoever lives with Christ also grows in the security of faith. It is a trust that deepens in everyday life.

This security does not lead to indifference, but strengthens devotion. Whoever knows they are held can live more freely and courageously.

πŸ™ Prayer

Dear Heavenly Father,
thank You that I can be secure in Christ.

Help me not to place my trust in myself,
but in Your faithfulness.

Take away my doubts and insecurity
and fill my heart with Your peace.

Let me live in the assurance of Your love
and follow You faithfully.

Amen.
