👑 The King Is Coming Soon – Hope Beyond the End
🧭 April 22 – Deception and False Signs: Discernment Through the Spirit
Monthly Theme: The Signs of the Times – Watch and Pray
Year Theme 2026: “The King Is Coming Soon – Hope Beyond the End”
📖 Central Bible Text of the Day
“For false christs and false prophets will arise and perform great signs and wonders, so as to deceive, if possible, even the elect.”
— Matthew 24:24
🌅 Devotional of the Day
Jesus does not speak only of external crises,
but of a much more subtle danger:
deception.
Not everything impressive comes from God.
Not everything that looks spiritual is true.
Especially in the end times, deception will not be obvious,
but convincing, seemingly real,
often even shaped by religion.
That is what makes it so dangerous.
✨ When the False Resembles the True
The words of Jesus are serious:
deception can be so close to the truth,
that even believers are at risk.
It is not only about obvious errors,
but about subtle shifts.
A half-light can appear like full light.
A changed thought can sound like truth.
Ellen G. White wrote:
“The greatest deception is that error is clothed in the garments of truth.”
(The Great Controversy, p. 593)
🌿 The Spirit of Discernment
How can we discern?
Not by knowledge alone,
but through the guidance of the Holy Spirit.
“The Spirit of truth will guide you into all truth.”
— John 16:13
The Holy Spirit works quietly,
but clearly.
He reminds us of God’s Word,
convicts the conscience,
and brings light into confusion.
🕊️ Preserving Inner Sensitivity
Deception often does not begin outwardly,
but inwardly.
When we stop listening
to God’s voice,
other voices become louder.
That is why it is so important
to keep the heart awake.
Ellen G. White wrote:
“Only those who live daily with Christ will recognize the deceptions of the last days.”
(Maranatha, p. 200)
🌄 Remaining in the Truth
Security is not found in knowing everything,
but in remaining in Christ.
The closer we are to Him,
the clearer the difference between truth and error becomes.
His presence gives direction.
His Word provides the standard.
His Spirit gives clarity.
🙏 Prayer
Dear Heavenly Father,
in a time full of voices, I need Your guidance.
Protect me from deception
and grant me clear spiritual understanding.
Teach me to listen to Your Spirit
and to remain in Your truth.
Keep my heart close to You,
so that I may recognize Your way.
Amen.
💭 Thought for the Day
