π The King Is Coming Soon β Hope Beyond the End
π April 28 β Looking Ahead: Hope Until the Very End
Monthly Theme: The Signs of the Times β Watch and Pray
Year Theme 2026: βThe King is Coming Soon β Hope Beyond the Endβ
π Central Bible Verse of the Day
βWhen these things begin to take place, stand up and lift up your heads, because your redemption is drawing near.β
β Luke 21:28
π Daily Devotional
It is remarkable how Jesus speaks about the future.
He does not hide the difficulties.
He speaks of unrest, deception, and challenges.
And yet He does not direct the gaze of His disciples toward fear,
but upward.
βLift up your heads.β
This is more than encouragement.
It is an invitation to change perspective.
β¨ Hope is a Decision
Our gaze can easily turn downward β
to problems, uncertainties, and questions.
But hope begins there,
where we consciously choose to look differently.
Not because everything is easy,
but because God is faithful.
βI lift up my eyes to the mountainsβ
Where does my help come from?β
β Psalm 121:1
Looking ahead is ultimately looking to God.
πΏ Redemption Is Drawing Near
Jesus does not only say that something is happening β
He explains why it is happening.
The signs are not an end in themselves.
They show that something is being fulfilled.
That something is approaching.
That Godβs plan is advancing.
Ellen G. White wrote:
βFor believers, the signs of the times indicate that redemption is near.β
(The Great Controversy, p. 303)
ποΈ Hope Sustains Us in the Present
Hope does not always immediately change circumstances,
but it changes the heart.
It gives strength to keep going.
It brings peace in the midst of unrest.
It helps us hold on,
when much is uncertain.
Hope is like an inner light,
that continues to shine
even when it grows dark outside.
π Living with a Goal in Mind
Those who know their goal,
live differently.
Looking ahead gives direction to today.
It helps us to:
- set priorities
- make conscious decisions
- not remain stuck in the moment
We are not only moving toward the end β
we are moving toward an encounter with Christ.
π Prayer
Dear Heavenly Father,
in the midst of this world, I want to fix my eyes on You.
Help me not to be driven by worries,
but by Your hope.
Strengthen my trust
and remind me that my redemption is near.
Let me live with my head lifted high
and look ahead with confidence.
Amen.
