π April 26 β Bearing Fruit: A Life That Remains
Monthly Theme: The Signs of the Times β Watch and Pray
Year Theme 2026: βThe King Is Coming Soon β Hope Beyond the Endβ
π Central Bible Verse of the Day
βI am the vine; you are the branches. Whoever remains in me and I in him will bear much fruit; for apart from me you can do nothing.β
β John 15:5
π Devotional Thought of the Day
Jesus does not begin by speaking about performance,
but about connection.
Not about what we should do,
but about where we should remain.
βRemain in me.β
This one phrase carries a deep truth:
A fruitful life does not begin with doing,
but with beingβ
in closeness to Christ.
β¨ Fruit grows; it is not forced
Fruit does not come through pressure.
It grows quietly, often unnoticed.
So it is in the spiritual life.
Patience, love, peace, faithfulnessβ
they develop where the heart is connected to Christ.
βBut the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peaceβ¦β
β Galatians 5:22
Ellen G. White wrote:
βThe character is not formed by external pressure, but by inner connection with Christ.β
(Christβs Object Lessons, p. 67)
πΏ Remaining despite challenges
It is easy to remain connected
when everything is calm.
But true remaining is shown
when doubts come,
when daily life presses in,
when the heart grows weary.
Remaining then means:
not walking away.
not giving up.
not letting go.
A quiet holding on to Christ.
ποΈ A life with impact
Fruit is never just for the tree itself.
It is for others.
A life with Christ does not remain without effect.
Perhaps we do not see it immediately.
Perhaps it is small.
Perhaps it remains hidden.
But God sees it.
Ellen G. White wrote:
βA life rooted in Christ will bear fruit that has an impact beyond oneβs own lifetime.β
(Maranatha, p. 49)
π What remains
Many things pass away.
Successes, plans, words.
But what grows out of connection with Christ
endures.
A transformed heart.
A loving attitude.
A faithful life.
These are fruits
that remain.
π Prayer
Dear Heavenly Father,
thank You that I may remain in You.
Help me not to seek my strength in myself,
but in Your presence.
Let my life bear fruit
that grows from Your love.
Strengthen my connection with You,
so that my life may endure.
Amen.
π Thought for the Day
βFruit grows where a life remains quietly connected to Christ.β
