After David, his son Solomon becomes king over Israel.
He is still young and has a great responsibility ahead of him. He must lead an entire nation. Many people look to him and expect him to make good decisions.
That is not easy.
But Solomon is not alone.
He knows: God is with him.

Solomon goes to an important place: the tabernacle.
There, people seek closeness to God.
Solomon offers sacrifices to God – a sign that he wants to honor and trust Him.
He shows: “God, You are important to me.”

During the night, something special happens.
God appears to Solomon in a dream.
And then God asks him an extraordinary question:
“What do you wish for? I will give it to you.”
Just imagine that.
You are allowed to make a wish – and God Himself asks you.
🤔 A Surprising Answer
Solomon could have asked for many things:
Wealth. Power. A long life. Victory over his enemies.
But he does not think of himself first.
He thinks about his responsibility.
He says to God:
“I am young and inexperienced. Please give me wisdom so that I can lead your people well.”
This is a special answer.
Solomon wants to understand what is right and wrong. He wants to make wise decisions.

Wisdom is more than knowledge.
It means making good decisions.
Recognizing what is right.
And acting in a way that is good for others.

“I will give you wisdom – more than anyone else has.”

God also gives him wealth, honor, and reputation.

His kingdom becomes strong and prosperous.
