๐ 2 Chronicles Chapter 1 โ Solomon Asks for Wisdom
๐ง When You Choose What Is Right
๐ Introduction
Sometimes you are allowed to make a wish.
Maybe you have already wondered: โIf I could wish for one thing โ what would it be?โ
Wealth? Success? Many friends?
This chapter is exactly about that. A young king is allowed to ask something from God. And his decision shows what truly matters.
๐ The Bible Story
๐ A New King
After David, his son Solomon becomes king over Israel.
He is still young and has a great responsibility ahead of him. He must lead an entire nation. Many people look to him and expect him to make good decisions.
That is not easy.
But Solomon is not alone.
He knows: God is with him.
โบ A Special Place of Encounter
Solomon goes to an important place: the tabernacle.
There, people seek closeness to God.
Solomon offers sacrifices to God โ a sign that he wants to honor and trust Him.
He shows: โGod, You are important to me.โ
๐ A Dream in the Night
During the night, something special happens.
God appears to Solomon in a dream.
And then God asks him an extraordinary question:
โWhat do you wish for? I will give it to you.โ
Just imagine that.
You are allowed to make a wish โ and God Himself asks you.
๐ค A Surprising Answer
Solomon could have asked for many things:
Wealth. Power. A long life. Victory over his enemies.
But he does not think of himself first.
He thinks about his responsibility.
He says to God:
โI am young and inexperienced. Please give me wisdom so that I can lead your people well.โ
This is a special answer.
Solomon wants to understand what is right and wrong. He wants to make wise decisions.
๐ง What Wisdom Really Means
Wisdom is more than knowledge.
It means making good decisions.
Recognizing what is right.
And acting in a way that is good for others.
This is exactly what Solomon asks for.
๐ Godโs Answer
God is pleased with this request.
Because Solomon did not think of himself, but of others.
Therefore God says:
โI will give you wisdom โ more than anyone else has.โ
And then something more is added:
God also gives him wealth, honor, and reputation.
Not because Solomon asked for it โ but because he put what is right first.
๐๏ธ A Blessed Beginning
Solomon returns and begins to rule as king.
His kingdom becomes strong and prosperous.
But the most important thing is: he received wisdom from God.
And this wisdom helps him walk his path.
๐ What This Chapter Shows
This chapter shows something very important:
It depends on what we desire and what matters most to us.
Solomon chooses wisdom โ not power or wealth.
And that pleases God.
๐ฃ Summary
