π The King Is Coming Soon β Hope Beyond the End
π April 30 β Ready for the King: A Life in Expectation
Monthly Theme: The Signs of the Times β Watch and Pray
Year Theme 2026: βSoon the King Comes β Hope Beyond the Endβ
π Central Bible Text of the Day
βTherefore you also be ready, for the Son of Man is coming at an hour you do not expect.β
β Matthew 24:44
π Devotional of the Day
A month full of signs lies behind us.
Words of Jesus about vigilance, deception, hope, decision.
Images that remind us:
This world is not the end.
And yet, everything leads to a quiet, personal question:
Am I ready?
Not theoretically.
Not someday.
But now.
β¨ Readiness Begins in the Heart
Being ready does not mean
having all the answers
or living a perfect life.
It means
standing in a living relationship with Christ.
A heart that trusts Him.
A life that allows itself to be led by Him.
A faith that not only knows,
but lives.
βBehold, I stand at the door and knock.β
β Revelation 3:20
Readiness begins there,
where we open the door.
πΏ A Life in Expectation
Expectation changes life.
When we know that someone is coming,
we live differently.
We set things in order,
we prepare,
we look ahead.
So it is with the return of Jesus.
But this expectation is not nervous tension,
but a quiet certainty.
Ellen G. White wrote:
βThe expectation of Christβs return purifies life and directs the heart toward eternity.β
(The Great Controversy, p. 299)
ποΈ Living Today in the Light of Tomorrow
Readiness is not shown only in great moments,
but in everyday life.
In morning prayer.
In decisions that no one sees.
In a life that continually turns back to God.
It is a journey,
not a one-time state.
And on this journey, Christ walks with us.
π Hope That Remains
The signs of the times may awaken us.
But in the end, what remains is not unrest,
but hope.
The King is coming.
Not as a stranger,
but as Savior.
Not as judge for those who love Him,
but as the One
who brings them home.
π Prayer
Dear Heavenly Father,
thank You for Your patience and Your invitation.
I want to be ready,
not out of fear,
but out of love for You.
Shape my heart
and align my life with Your coming.
Help me to walk with You consciously each day
and to live in Your hope.
Hold me firmly,
until I see You.
Amen.
π Thought for the Day
βReadiness for Christβs return does not begin at the end, but in daily life with Him.β
β Ellen G. White
π‘ Personal Application
- Read Matthew 24:42β47 and Revelation 3:20.
What does it practically mean to be ready? - Pray: βLord, I open my heart to You again.β
- Practical: Take time today to consciously reflect on your life before God.
πΊ Closing Verse
βHe who testifies to these things says, βSurely I am coming quickly.β Amen. Even so, come, Lord Jesus!β
β Revelation 22:20
