π Central Bible Verse of the Day
βIt is finished!β
β John 19:30
π Devotional of the Day
When Jesus spoke the words on the cross, βIt is finished,β it was not the expression of defeat, but the proclamation of a completed work. To the people around Him, that moment looked like failure. But in reality, it was precisely there that the decisive victory was won.
On the cross, Christ bore the burden of sin and overcame the separation between God and humanity. He took upon Himself what had separated us from God and opened the way back into fellowship with Him. His final words show that nothing more needs to be added. Salvation is not something we earn, but something given to us.
The love of God becomes visible at the cross in its deepest form. It is not an abstract idea, but a lived reality. God Himself walks the path of suffering in order to save humanity. This love does not seek itself, but gives itself.
β¨ The Love That Triumphs
The cross reveals a different kind of victory than the one we know in this world. It is not a victory through power or force, but through surrender and self-sacrifice. That is precisely where its strength lies.
Ellen G. White wrote:
βAt the cross, Christ broke the dominion of Satan and won the victory.β
(The Desire of Ages, p. 758)
This victory is the foundation of our hope. It shows that evil does not have the final word and that Godβs plan does not fail.
πΏ The Cross and the Second Coming
The second coming of Jesus is inseparably connected with the cross. The One who died for us will come again to complete the work of redemption. Without the cross there would be no forgiveness, and without forgiveness no hope for the future.
The second coming is therefore not only a future event, but the continuation of what began at the cross. It is the visible fulfillment of an invisible redemption.
ποΈ Living by Grace
The cross does not only change our future, but also our life today. Whoever understands what Christ has done begins to live differently. Not out of obligation, but out of gratitude. Not out of fear, but out of trust.
Ellen G. White wrote:
βThe love of Christ, revealed at the cross, draws the heart and transforms the life.β
(Steps to Christ, p. 27)
This change does not happen suddenly or perfectly, but it begins where we accept the gift of grace.
π Prayer
Dear Heavenly Father,
thank You for the cross and for the love You revealed there.
Thank You that Jesus has accomplished everything necessary for my salvation.
Help me to live out of this grace
and to place my trust fully in You.
Let the cross shape my thoughts, my actions, and my life
and direct my eyes toward Your coming.
Amen.
