π The King Is Coming Soon β Hope Beyond the End
π April 4 β Natural disasters: Creation groans
Monthly theme: The signs of the times β Watching and praying
Yearly theme 2026: βSoon the King is coming β Hope beyond the endβ
π Central Bible text of the day
βFor there will be famines and earthquakes in various places.β
β Matthew 24:7
π Devotional of the day
Earthquakes, floods, droughts β
our world is increasingly showing its fragility.
Jesus spoke of this as part of the signs of the times.
But He added:
βAll these are the beginning of birth pains.β
β Matthew 24:8
The image is meaningful:
Birth pains are painful β
but they lead to new life.
β¨ Creation suffers
The Bible describes that not only humans suffer,
but all creation.
βFor we know that the whole creation groans together and suffers together.β
β Romans 8:22
Sin has affected not only the human heart,
but the entire world.
Ellen G. White wrote:
βNature bears the marks of the curse of sin and reveals the consequences of separation from God.β
(The Great Controversy, p. 589)
πΏ A sign of restoration
Natural disasters are not only signs of destruction,
but also indications
that this world is not in its original state.
They remind us:
God has prepared something better.
βBehold, I make all things new.β
β Revelation 21:5
ποΈ Hope in the midst of suffering
When we see suffering,
it can shake our hearts.
But God invites us
not to fall into hopelessness.
He sees every suffering.
He forgets no tear.
Ellen G. White wrote:
βGod will wipe away every tear and create a world where there will be no more pain.β
(The Great Controversy, p. 678)
π A life of compassion
The signs of the times should not harden us,
but make us sensitive.
We are called to:
- help where we can
- comfort those who suffer
- bring hope where there is fear
In this way we reflect Godβs heart.
π Prayer
Dear Heavenly Father,
when I see the suffering in this world,
it moves my heart.
Help me not to become indifferent,
but to act with compassion.
Strengthen my hope in the new earth,
which You have promised.
And use me,
to bring light and comfort to others.
Amen.
