π Introduction
With 1 Chronicles chapter 11, a new section begins: David becomes king over all Israel. After the tragic end of Saul, the king chosen by God now steps forward. It is a chapter full of new beginnings, unity, and strength.

𧡠Commentary
The people of Israel gather. The tribes come together, not forced, but convinced. They recognize in David more than just a leader β they see someone who has led them for a long time, even before he officially became king.
Davidβs anointing is a moment of confirmation. What God had long decided now becomes publicly visible. David steps into his calling β not suddenly, but as the result of a long journey.
Then the focus turns to Jerusalem. A city not yet fully conquered. David attacks it, and succeeds. The city becomes his center β the βCity of David.β A new focal point emerges.
But the chapter does not remain with David alone. It expands to his heroes β men who stand by his side. Their deeds are described: courage, determination, willingness to sacrifice. One risks his life just to bring David water. But David recognizes the value of this sacrifice and refuses to simply drink it β he honors it before God.
These men show: A king does not stand alone. Great callings are carried by community.
The chapter radiates strength β but also humility. David becomes great not because he is strong alone, but because God is with him.

𧡠Commentary
David tries to hide what has happened. But sin cannot simply be coveredβit grows in secret. From adultery comes deception. From deception comes manipulation. And finally: murder.
Uriah carries his own death letter. A faithful man diesβnot by the enemy, but by the decision of his king.
David believes he has regained control. But in truth, he has lost himself.
