👑 The King Is Coming Soon – Hope Beyond the End
👁️ April 1 – Understanding the signs: watchful without fear
Monthly theme: The signs of the times – watching and praying
Year theme 2026: “Soon the King is coming – hope beyond the end”
📖 Central Bible text of the day
“Therefore keep watch! For you do not know on what day your Lord will come.”
— Matthew 24:42
🌅 Devotional of the day
Jesus spoke openly about the future.
He did not hide that difficult times would come.
Wars, unrest, deception, uncertainty — all these are part of the signs of the times.
But His goal was not to create fear,
but to prepare hearts.
“You will hear of wars and rumors of wars… see to it that you are not alarmed.”
— Matthew 24:6
These words are crucial:
“Do not be alarmed.”
The signs are not a reason for panic,
but a call to vigilance.
✨ To watch means: staying connected
Watchfulness does not mean constant worry,
but a living relationship with Christ.
A watchful heart:
- seeks God’s presence daily
- listens to His Word
- remains open to His guidance
“Watch and pray so that you will not fall into temptation.”
— Mark 14:38
Ellen G. White wrote:
“Watchfulness and prayer are our safe refuge in the last days.”
(Testimonies, vol. 5, p. 212)
🌿 The danger of getting used to it
The greatest danger is not the chaos of the world —
but that we become accustomed to it.
When everything seems normal,
we lose spiritual alertness.
Jesus warned:
“As it was in the days of Noah… so it will be at the coming of the Son of Man.”
— Matthew 24:37
People continued living as usual —
until the decision came suddenly.
🕊️ Hope instead of fear
For those who know Jesus,
the signs are not a threat,
but hope.
They show:
Redemption is near.
“When these things begin to happen, stand up and lift up your heads,
because your redemption is drawing near.”
— Luke 21:28
🌄 A watchful life
Watchfulness is shown in everyday life:
- in a heart open to God
- in a clear vision for truth
- in a life oriented toward eternity
It is not a life of fear,
but of expectation.
🙏 Prayer
Dear Heavenly Father,
thank You for preparing us for the future through Your Word.
Help me remain watchful,
without living in fear.
Strengthen my relationship with You
and teach me to walk with You consciously each day.
Help me recognize the signs
and align my life with Your coming kingdom.
Amen.
