The right place fosters a real encounter with God

Do you have a fixed place where you regularly spend time with God?
Or does your devotional time happen more randomly—wherever there is space and time?
The place may seem secondary, but in reality it strongly influences how focused and intentional our encounter with God is.
📜 2. Biblical foundation – Jesus’ example
Mark 1:35 shows us a clear picture: Jesus got up early and went to a solitary place to pray.
He intentionally sought distance from the busyness and demands of daily life. This place was not accidental, but a deliberate choice.
👉 Silence and solitude were part of His relationship with the Father.
If Jesus needed this time and place, how much more do we.

Our daily life is loud, full, and often chaotic. There are constant distractions: phones, conversations, tasks.
If we do not intentionally choose a place, our time with God is easily interrupted or becomes superficial.
A fixed place helps to:

Jesus’ behavior in Mark 1:35 is not only a good example, but also a theological statement about priority. Despite a full ministry, many people, and great responsibility, He withdrew. This shows that fellowship with the Father stood above all other demands.
Another important point is seeking God’s presence. Psalm 27:8 describes an invitation and a response: God calls, the human responds. This dynamic shows that relationship is active. God does not force Himself, but waits for a conscious turning toward Him.
1 Chronicles 16:11 adds to this idea: God is to be sought “continually.” This means that spiritual life is not occasional, but ongoing. A fixed place can help to live out this consistency in a practical way.
The story of Mary and Martha (Luke 10) also shows that closeness to Jesus is more important than activity. Mary consciously chooses the place at Jesus’ feet. This is not just a physical decision, but a spiritual priority.
