👑 The King is coming soon – Hope beyond the end

📅 March 6 – Faithful Even in the Lions’ Den

Monthly Theme: Daniel: The God Who Guides History – Faithfulness in the Fire of Testing
Year Theme 2026: “The King Is Coming Soon – Hope Beyond the End”

📖 Central Bible Text for the Day

“My God sent his angel and shut the lions’ mouths,
so that they could not harm me.”

Daniel 6:23

🌅 Devotion of the Day

Daniel was now an old man.
Empires had fallen, kings had come and gone —
but one thing had not changed: his faithfulness to God.

When Daniel was envied because of his integrity,
his opponents searched for a fault.
They found none — except his faithfulness to the God of heaven.

So a law was issued
that forbade any prayer except to the king.

Daniel stood before a decision:
adaptation or faithfulness.

“He knelt down three times a day, prayed, and gave thanks before his God.”
Daniel 6:11

He continued to pray — not out of protest,
but because his relationship with God was the very breath of his life.

Faithfulness in Everyday Life

The miracle of the lions’ den did not begin there.
It began in decades of quiet faithfulness.

Daniel remained the same —
in the palace and in private.

Ellen G. White wrote:
“Daniel’s steadfastness in the hour of trial was the result of a life of consistent faithfulness.”
(Prophets and Kings, p. 492)

Faith that grows in everyday life
endures in the storm.

🌿 God Shuts the Lions’ Mouths

Daniel was thrown into the den,
and the king could not save him.

But where human power ends,
God’s intervention begins.

“Do not fear, for I am with you.”
Isaiah 41:10

God did not remove the lions —
but He preserved Daniel in the midst of them.

Sometimes God does not immediately change the circumstances,
but gives His presence within them.

🕊️ A Testimony for the World

The next morning the king recognized
that the living God is greater than any human law.

“For He is the living God,
and He endures forever.”

Daniel 6:27

Daniel’s faithfulness became a testimony for an entire kingdom.

Ellen G. White wrote:
“Through Daniel’s steadfast faith, the name of God was exalted before kings.”
(Prophets and Kings, p. 513)

Our faithfulness can also be a light
for people who do not yet know God.

🌄 A Picture of the End Time

The lions’ den reminds us of the final conflict in the history of the world:
God’s people will face pressure,
but heaven will intervene.

Faithfulness does not mean that trials disappear —
but that God carries us through them.

🙏 Prayer

Dear Father in heaven,
thank You for the example of Daniel, who remained faithful to You until the end.

Strengthen my faith as well,
so that I may trust You in everyday life and in times of testing.

When I feel as if I am in a lions’ den,
let me sense Your presence.

Protect me and make my life a testimony of Your faithfulness.

Amen.
