👑 The King Is Coming Soon – Hope Beyond the End

🌧️ April 11 – As in the Days of Noah: Life Without God

Monthly Theme: The Signs of the Times – Watch and Pray
Year Theme 2026: “The King Is Coming Soon – Hope Beyond the End”

📖 Central Bible Text of the Day

“But as the days of Noah were, so also will the coming of the Son of Man be.”
Matthew 24:37

🌅 Devotional of the Day

Jesus describes the time before His return
with a surprising comparison:

the days of Noah.

What characterized that time?

People lived completely normally:

  • they ate and drank
  • they married
  • they went about their daily lives

“…and they did not realize it until the flood came.”
Matthew 24:39

The problem was not their daily life —
but their indifference toward God.

Life Without Spiritual Awareness

The greatest danger is not open resistance,
but a life without God at the center.

People can be busy, successful,
and yet spiritually blind.

Ellen G. White wrote:
“The people in Noah’s time lived in self-satisfaction and forgot God.”
(The Great Controversy, p. 338)

🌿 Noah: A Different Life

In the midst of this world, Noah lived differently.

“But Noah found grace in the eyes of the Lord.”
Genesis 6:8

He believed God’s word,
even when it made no sense to others.

He prepared himself,
while others continued as usual.

🕊️ Watchfulness in Daily Life

Jesus’ warning is not against daily life,
but against a heart that forgets God.

Watchfulness means:

  • consciously including God in daily life
  • making decisions with Him
  • not falling asleep spiritually

🌄 A Call to Decision

The flood came suddenly —
but it had been announced.

So it will be with the return of Jesus.

The question is not whether we are busy,
but whether we are ready.

Ellen G. White wrote:
“As in the days of Noah, many will be unprepared because they ignore God’s warnings.”
(Maranatha, p. 180)

🙏 Prayer

Dear Heavenly Father,
keep me from forgetting You in my daily life.

Help me to live watchfully
and to consciously include You in my life.

Give me a heart like Noah,
that trusts You and follows Your way.

Prepare me for Your coming.

Amen.

💭 Thought for the Day

“It is not daily life that is the danger, but a life without God in daily life.”
Ellen G. White

💡 Personal Application

  1. Read Matthew 24:36–44 and Genesis 6.
What distinguishes Noah from his surroundings?
  2. Pray: “Lord, keep my heart awake.”
  3. Practical: Take time today to be with God intentionally in the midst of your daily life.

🌺 Closing Verse

“Therefore you also be ready, for the Son of Man is coming at an hour you do not expect.”
Matthew 24:44
