🤔 David’s Decision

One day, David has an idea.

He wants to know how many soldiers he has. How large his people are. How strong his army is.

At first glance, this doesn’t sound wrong.

But there is something deeper behind it.

It’s not just about numbers. It’s about what David trusts in.

Does he trust in God?
Or in his own strength?

⚠️ A Warning

Joab, his army commander, notices that something is not right.

He tries to warn him. He says: “Why do you want to do this? God is with us.”

But David does not listen.

He sticks to his decision.

And so the people are counted.

😔 David Realizes His Mistake

After everything is done, David realizes that he acted wrongly.

He recognizes: this decision was not good.

He says to God: “I have made a mistake.”

Because David does not try to justify himself.

God allows David to choose between several difficult outcomes.

He says: “Enough!”

David sees where the disaster stops.

And right there he decides: here I want to meet God.

He goes to that place and builds an altar.

💝 An Offering from the Heart

A man offers David everything for free.

But David says: “No. I do not want to give God something that costs me nothing.”

This is a special statement.

David wants to give something that truly comes from him.

🔥 God Responds

David offers his sacrifice.

And God responds.

Fire comes down, and it is clear: God has heard.

The connection is restored.

This chapter is serious, but also full of hope.

It shows that decisions matter.

It shows that mistakes have consequences.
