πŸ‘‘ The King Is Coming Soon – Hope Beyond the End

πŸ“… January 3 – The God Who Has Promised

Monthly theme: The Blessed Hope – Living in Expectation
Year theme 2026: β€œThe King Is Coming Soon – Hope Beyond the End”

πŸ“– Central Bible Text for the Day

β€œThe One who calls you is faithful, and He will do it.”
β€” 1 Thessalonians 5:24

πŸŒ… Devotional Thought for the Day

Promises are easy to make, but hard to keep.
People promise many things β€” love, faithfulness, help β€” yet words often remain empty.
God’s Word, however, is different.
When He speaks, it happens.
When He promises, it stands firmer than heaven and earth.

β€œHeaven and earth will pass away, but My words will never pass away.”
β€” Matthew 24:35

God’s faithfulness is the foundation of all true hope.
That is why Paul can say with confidence:

β€œHe will do it.”
We do not carry the promise β€” God Himself sustains it.

Ellen G. White writes:

β€œNot one jot or tittle of His promises can fail.
What God speaks comes to pass; what He commands stands firm.”
(The Great Controversy, p. 67)

This trust is the heart of faith:
We do not build our lives on feelings, circumstances, or success,
but on the unchanging Word of the Eternal One.

✨ God Completes What He Has Begun

β€œBeing confident of this very thing, that He who has begun a good work in you will complete it until the day of Jesus Christ.”
β€” Philippians 1:6

How comforting these words are at the beginning of a new year!
God does not begin a work that He does not finish.
He created the world β€” and He will renew it.
He redeemed you β€” and He will bring you to completion.

If you sometimes feel weak or think you have fallen too far,
remember this: God does not give up on His promises.

Ellen G. White wrote:

β€œGod does not require you to be perfect in your own strength.
But He does require you to surrender yourself to Him, so that He may work the perfection in you.”
(Steps to Christ, p. 71)

God’s promises are not mere assurances β€” they are His work within us.
He speaks, and it happens.
He calls, and He also empowers.

🌿 The Reliable Word in Unsettled Times

Our world is full of words, opinions, and promises.
Some bring comfort, many bring confusion.
But in the midst of all these voices stands the voice of heaven β€” quiet and firm:

β€œBehold, I am coming soon.”
β€” Revelation 22:12

Ellen White writes:

β€œChrist has said that heaven and earth will pass away, but His word will not.
His promises are more secure than the existence of this world.
Whoever trusts in them stands firmer than the mountains.”
(The Desire of Ages, p. 636)

Therefore, we can face the future with courage and calm.
Not because we know everything β€”
but because we know the One who holds everything in His hands.

πŸ•ŠοΈ God’s Faithfulness β€” Our Response

β€œLet us hold fast the confession of our hope without wavering, for He who promised is faithful.”
β€” Hebrews 10:23

God’s faithfulness calls forth our faithfulness.
He keeps His Word β€” therefore we can remain faithful to His Word.
Our hope is not a theory; it is a relationship:
The certainty that the God who has called us will not let us fall.

Ellen G. White wrote:

β€œThe Lord has not promised that we will pass through life without conflict,
but He has promised that He will never leave us.
His faithfulness is our shield and protection.”
(Education, p. 235)

πŸ™ Prayer

Faithful God,
You have given Your Word, and You keep what You have promised.

Thank You for giving us in Christ a hope that does not fade away.
Strengthen our faith when we doubt;
remind us of Your promises when we grow weary.

Help us to hold fast to Your faithfulness throughout this year.
Teach us to live as people who know that You are coming soon
and that Your Word has the final say.

Amen.

πŸ’ Thought for the Day

β€œWhen God speaks, it is as certain as if it had already happened.
His Word is creative power, and whoever stands upon it stands on solid ground.”
β€” Ellen G. White, The Desire of Ages, p. 313

πŸ’‘ Personal Application

  1. Write down three promises of God today that strengthen you
(for example: Isaiah 41:10; John 14:3; Revelation 21:4).

  2. Pray over each promise:
β€œLord, I believe Your Word β€” fulfill it in me.”

  3. Remind yourself throughout the day:

β€œHe who has called me is faithful β€” He will do it.”

🌺 Closing Verse

β€œFor all the promises of God in Him are Yes, and in Him Amen, to the glory of God through us.”
