The first sign that Jesus mentions
is not war or natural disasters —
but deception.
“Many will come in my name… and will deceive many.”
— Matthew 24:5
This shows how serious this topic is.
The greatest danger of the end times is not only in external events,
but in spiritual confusion.
Deception rarely appears obvious.
It often comes in a religious form,
with words that sound familiar.
✨ Truth as Protection
How can we recognize deception?
Not by feelings,
not by the majority,
but by the Word of God.
“Your word is truth.”
— John 17:17
The Bible is the standard
that separates truth from error.
Ellen G. White wrote:
“Only those who have trained their minds with the truth of Scripture will stand firm in the last great deception.”
(The Great Controversy, p. 593)
🌿 A Personal Relationship with Christ
Truth is not just information —
it is connected to a person: Jesus Christ.
Whoever knows Him,
will be sensitive to what does not come from Him.
“My sheep hear my voice.”
— John 10:27
Deception loses its power,
when we know the voice of the Shepherd.
🕊️ Watchfulness in Daily Life
Watchfulness means:
- examining what we hear
- spending intentional time in the Word of God
- not accepting everything uncritically
It is an active, daily process.
Ellen G. White wrote:
“Satan seeks to obscure the truth; but those who remain in the light of the Word will not be led astray.”

🌄 Courage Instead of Uncertainty
The warning about deception is not a threat,
but protection.
God does not leave us in the dark.
He gives us everything we need
to move safely through this time.

Heavenly Father,
protect me from deception and false paths.
Give me a love for Your Word
and a clear vision of the truth.
Teach me to recognize Your voice
and to follow You faithfully.
Keep my heart awake and firm in You.
Amen.
