👑 The King Is Coming Soon – Hope Beyond the End
🛡️ April 5 – Persecution and Faithfulness: Standing Firm in Faith
Monthly theme: The signs of the times – Watching and praying
Year theme 2026: “Soon the King is coming – hope beyond the end”
📖 Key Bible text of the day
“Then they will hand you over to be persecuted and will kill you, and you will be hated by all nations because of my name.”
— Matthew 24:9
🌅 Devotional of the day
Jesus spoke openly:
Whoever follows Him will not always receive understanding or approval.
Persecution is not a sign of God’s absence —
but often a sign of true discipleship.
The first Christians experienced it.
Daniel and his friends experienced it.
And even today there are many who suffer because of their faith.
Yet in the midst of this reality stands a promise:
“But the one who endures to the end will be saved.”
— Matthew 24:13
✨ Faithfulness under pressure
Faith is shown especially
when it comes at a cost.
The three men in the fiery furnace said:
“And even if He does not… we will not serve your gods.”
— Daniel 3:18
Faithfulness does not depend on the outcome,
but on the relationship with God.
Ellen G. White wrote:
“God’s children are tested so that their faithfulness may be revealed and their faith strengthened.”
(The Great Controversy, p. 602)
🌿 Not alone in suffering
When people are abandoned or misunderstood,
God remains near.
“Blessed are you when people insult you because of me…”
— Matthew 5:11
Christ Himself walked this path.
He understands every suffering and every rejection.
🕊️ A testimony through steadfastness
Persecution can make faith visible.
When people remain steadfast despite pressure,
the power of God is revealed.
Ellen G. White wrote:
“The faithfulness of believers under persecution will be a powerful testimony to the truth.”
(Maranatha, p. 199)
🌄 Hope beyond suffering
The suffering of this present time is not the end.
It is part of a path
that leads to glory.
“For I am convinced that the sufferings of this present time are not worth comparing with the glory that will be revealed.”
— Romans 8:18
The second coming of Jesus will end all suffering.
🙏 Prayer
Dear Heavenly Father,
thank You for being with me even when my faith is tested.
Give me courage and steadfastness,
to remain faithful to You no matter what happens.
Strengthen my faith
and help me to trust in You even in suffering.
Make my life a testimony of Your truth.
Amen.
💭 Thought for the day
“Faithfulness in suffering is a light that breaks through the darkness of this world.”
— Ellen G. White
