📖 Central Bible Text of the Day
“And I heard another voice from heaven saying:
Come out of her, My people,
so that you will not share in her sins
and so that you will not receive of her plagues!”
— Revelation 18:4
🌅 Devotional of the Day
Amid the noise of confusion in this world,
a heavenly call rings out — clear, serious, and loving:
“Come out, My people!”
This call is an expression of God’s mercy
toward humanity entangled in religious deception.
It is not a call to flee from the world,
but to separate from false systems of worship.
It is heaven’s final appeal of love
before justice and judgment strike the earth.
“Therefore come out from among them and be separate,
says the Lord,
and touch no unclean thing,
and I will receive you.”
— 2 Corinthians 6:17
Ellen G. White wrote:
“The call out of Babylon is a call to reformation,
to return to the commandments of God and the faith of Jesus.
It is the last message of grace to a fallen world.”
(The Great Controversy, p. 604)
✨ What is Babylon?
“Babylon” in Revelation
stands for the religious system that mixes truth and error.
The name itself means confusion
(cf. Genesis 11:9).
Just as in ancient Babylon human pride
wanted to reach heaven,
so in the end time a religious system arises
that places human authority above God’s Word.
“They all drank of the wine of her fornication,
and the kings of the earth committed fornication with her.”
— Revelation 17:2
It is a system of false worship
that replaces divine commandments with human ones,
distorts the true Sabbath,
and covers the faith of Jesus with tradition.
Ellen White wrote:
“Babylon is made up of the churches
that have been unfaithful to the truth of God’s Word.
Their teachings rest on the commandments of men.”
(The Great Controversy, p. 382)
🌿 Why does God call His people out?
God calls not because He wants to condemn,
but because He wants to save.
In Babylon there are many sincere people
who love God,
but have been deceived by human systems.
God calls them “My people” —
an expression of tender belonging.
“I have other sheep that are not of this fold;
I must bring them also,
and they will hear My voice.”
— John 10:16
This call out of Babylon
is a call from confusion to truth,
from error to purity,
from the worship of people to the worship of the Creator.
Ellen White wrote:
“Many honest souls are still in Babylon.
When the light of truth shines more brightly,
they will hear the voice of the Good Shepherd
and follow Him.”
(The Great Controversy, p. 390)
🕊️ The Everlasting Gospel and the Angels’ Call
The three angels’ messages (Revelation 14:6–12)
include this call.
The first angel calls to worship the Creator,
the second warns against Babylon,
and the third urges faithfulness to God’s commandments.
This message will be proclaimed throughout the world —
not only by preachers,
but by every believing witness
who carries truth and light through their life.
“And this gospel of the kingdom
will be preached in all the world as a witness to all the nations,
and then the end will come.”
— Matthew 24:14
Ellen White explains:
“The last message of grace will be carried by ordinary people,
filled with the Holy Spirit,
who proclaim the Word of God with such power
that entire nations must make a decision.”
(The Great Controversy, p. 612)
🌄 The Decision
The call out of Babylon is a decision between two camps:
the kingdom of light and the kingdom of darkness.
Neutrality will not be possible.
“He who is not with Me is against Me.”
— Matthew 12:30
God’s call is urgent,
and yet loving.
He does not call by force,
but through the gentle pleading of His Spirit.
Ellen White wrote:
“The call ‘Come out of her, My people’
will sound with greater power
the nearer the end approaches.
Everyone who truly loves God
will follow the voice.”
(Maranatha, p. 273)
🙏 Prayer
Heavenly Father,
open my ears so that I may hear Your voice
when You call.
Free me from every bond
that keeps me from belonging fully to You.
Let me live in the light of Your truth
and be an instrument
to call others out of confusion.
Strengthen me to stand faithfully
when the world turns away.
Amen.
💭 Thought for the Day
“God’s call ‘Come out of her, My people’
is the final appeal of love from a merciful Redeemer
to a world standing in the shadow of judgment.”
— Ellen G. White, Maranatha, p. 274
💡 Personal Application
-
Read Revelation 14:6–12 and Revelation 18:1–5.
Ask God to show you what it means to live in His truth. -
Pray: “Lord, make me ready to follow Your voice wherever You lead me.”
-
Practical:
Talk today with someone about God’s love and truth —
not as an argument, but as an invitation to life.
🌺 Closing Verse
“And the light of the moon will be as the light of the sun,
and the light of the sun will be sevenfold …
in the day when the LORD binds up the wounds of His people
and heals the blows of their injury.”
— Isaiah 30:26
