👑 The King is coming soon – Hope beyond the end
📅 February 13 – The Apostasy and Deception of the Last Days
Monthly Theme: The Great Controversy – The Conflict Between Good and Evil
Year Theme 2026: “Soon the King Is Coming – Hope Beyond the End”
📖 Central Bible Text of the Day
“For the time will come
when they will not endure sound doctrine,
but according to their own desires,
they will gather for themselves teachers;
and they will turn their ears away from the truth
and be turned aside to myths.”
— 2 Timothy 4:3–4
🌅 Devotional of the Day
In the last days of world history, truth will become a rare treasure.
The great controversy reaches its climax —
not in open battles,
but in the battle for truth.
Satan knows that his time is short,
and he works through deception, half-truths, and religious confusion.
“For false christs and false prophets will rise and show great signs and wonders to deceive, if possible, even the elect.”
— Matthew 24:24
Ellen G. White wrote:
“Satan will work through deception.
He will impersonate Christ,
and millions will believe his voice
because they did not love the truth.”
(The Great Controversy, p. 624)
✨ The Subtle Danger of Apostasy
Apostasy rarely happens suddenly.
It begins quietly —
with compromise, comfort, and neglect of prayer.
Just as Israel in the Old Testament
slowly followed idols,
so Christianity tends to mix pure teaching with human tradition.
“This people honors Me with their lips,
but their heart is far from Me;
and in vain they worship Me,
teaching as doctrines the commandments of men.”
— Matthew 15:8–9
Ellen White warns:
“Apostasy in the church occurs
when people reject the Word of God
and place the authority of human teachings in its place.”
(The Great Controversy, p. 384)
True reformation therefore does not mean new programs,
but a return to the Word of God.
🌿 The Deception of the Last Days
The Bible describes a time of religious confusion
in which “Babylon” (Revelation 17)
represents a system of false worship
that deceives many.
It is a religious-political alliance
that mixes truth and error
and challenges God’s authority.
“Babylon is fallen, is fallen, that great city,
because she has made all nations drink
of the wine of the wrath of her fornication.”
— Revelation 14:8
This mixture of truth and error
is the most dangerous form of deception.
It deceives through outward piety
while denying obedience to God’s commandments.
Ellen White wrote:
“The greatest deception of the enemy
is to make people believe
they can serve God while breaking His law.”
(The Great Controversy, p. 518)
🕊️ The Power of Deception
The enemy will not come with open unbelief,
but with “signs and wonders.”
His lies will be accompanied by emotion, music, power, and appearance.
But truth is never based on feeling —
it is grounded in God’s Word.
“If they do not speak according to this word,
it is because there is no light in them.”
— Isaiah 8:20
Ellen White explains:
“Satan can perform great signs,
but he cannot produce holiness.
Only the Spirit of God can cleanse the heart.”
(Maranatha, p. 270)
Therefore, knowledge of Scripture
and the guidance of the Holy Spirit
are our only safety in the end times.
🌄 The Faithfulness of the Remnant
In the midst of apostasy, God calls His people —
those who remain faithful even when the majority turns away.
“Here are those who keep the commandments of God
and the faith of Jesus.”
— Revelation 14:12
This group will not stand by strength,
but by trust and love for God.
They hold fast even when the world turns away,
because they love the truth,
not just know it.
Ellen White wrote:
“Only those who build their lives upon truth
and are sanctified by the Spirit
will stand when the great deception comes upon the earth.”
(The Great Controversy, p. 593)
Therefore God calls us today
to seek, preserve, and live the truth —
not as theory,
but as a conviction of the heart.
🙏 Prayer
Faithful Lord,
protect me from deception and compromise.Fill me with Your Spirit,
so that I may recognize and love the truth.Strengthen my faith
when the world loses its convictions.Let me stand —
not through my own strength,
but in Your truth and grace.Amen.
