Monthly Theme: The Great Controversy β The Conflict Between Good and Evil
Yearly Theme 2026: βSoon the King Is Coming β Hope Beyond the Endβ
π Central Bible Text of the Day
βFor He shall give His angels charge over you,
to keep you in all your ways.
They shall bear you up in their hands,
lest you dash your foot against a stone.β
β Psalm 91:11β12
π Devotion of the Day
In the unseen world around us
moves a mighty host β
not of darkness, but of light.
The angels of God are messengers of His presence,
helpers in danger and guardians over His people.
While the great controversy between good and evil rages,
these holy beings stand at our side.
They are not fairy-tale figures,
but real servants of the Most High.
βAre they not all ministering spirits
sent forth to minister for those
who will inherit salvation?β
β Hebrews 1:14
Ellen G. White wrote:
βAngels are commissioned to guard the children of God.
No believer is ever without protection.
Day and night heavenly watchers stand ready
to surround Godβs people.β
(The Great Controversy, p. 511)
β¨ The Invisible Battle
We live in a world
where visible things often seem more real
than the unseen realities of heaven.
But the Bible opens our eyes:
βAnd behold, the mountain was full of horses and chariots of fire all around Elisha.β
β 2 Kings 6:17
When enemy armies surrounded Elisha,
his servant saw only danger β
but the prophet saw Godβs protection.
So it is today.
When the enemy surrounds us with fear, sickness, or temptation,
God surrounds us with angels,
stronger than every power of darkness.
Ellen White wrote:
βIf the eyes of faith were opened,
we would see angels surrounding us,
ready to protect us from evil
and to guide our steps.β
(Maranatha, p. 255)
πΏ Angels in the Service of Redemption
From Eden to the Second Coming,
angels have accompanied the divine story.
β’ They closed the gates of the garden after the fall (Genesis 3:24).
β’ They brought messages to Abraham and Jacob.
β’ They protected Daniel in the lionsβ den.
β’ They ministered to Jesus in the wilderness and in Gethsemane.
β’ And they will gather the elect at His return (Matthew 24:31).
Ellen White wrote:
βAngels minister to the redeemed in every circumstance of life.
They accompany them, comfort them,
lead them to those in need of help,
and guard them from unseen dangers.β
(Angels β Messengers of Light and Love, p. 11)
Often we do not know
how many times Godβs angels have protected us β
from accidents, temptation, or spiritual fall.
Only in eternity will we understand
how many times an unseen hand preserved us.
ποΈ Conflict and Protection
βThe angel of the LORD encamps all around those who fear Him,
and delivers them.β
β Psalm 34:7
Angels especially watch over those
who live in obedience and faith.
They are not magicians who remove all suffering,
but guardians who accompany every battle.
In the last days their ministry will become even more important.
Ellen White wrote:
βWhen the powers of darkness rule the earth,
Godβs angels will surround His children
like walls of fire,
and no enemy will be able to harm them.β
(The Great Controversy, p. 634)
Therefore, no child of God is ever alone.
Even in the darkest night,
the camp of angels is near.
π Angels and the Great Victory
When Jesus returns,
angels will complete their most glorious task:
the gathering of the redeemed.
βAnd He will send His angels with a great sound of a trumpet,
and they will gather together His elect
from the four winds.β
β Matthew 24:31
What a moment!
The angels who carried us through the depths of life
will escort us into heaven.
Ellen White describes:
βThe angels who stood protectively at every step of the way
will rejoice as they lead their charges
into the arms of Jesus.β
(The Great Controversy, p. 645)
From our first breath to eternity,
we will never be without the ministry of angels.
π Prayer
Heavenly Father,
thank You for Your angels
who surround and protect me.
Open the eyes of my faith
so that I may know I am never alone.
Keep me in Your light,
guide me by Your Spirit,
and send Your heavenly messengers
to lead me on the path of life.
Amen.
