Saul stands at the center of these events. Once anointed and called, he now finds himself in a hopeless situation. His sons fall, one after another. The loss is great, and the threat draws closer.

Finally, Saul makes a last decision. Wounded and without hope of rescue, he chooses death rather than falling into the hands of his enemies. It is a tragic end — quiet, heavy, and final.

But the story does not end with his death alone. The Philistines find his body and display it as a sign of their victory. For Israel, it is a moment of humiliation.

And yet, there is a spark of dignity: men from Jabesh Gilead gather their courage, retrieve the bodies, and give them an honorable burial. In the midst of loss, faithfulness and respect are shown once more.

The chapter closes with a clear statement: Saul’s end was not случайный. It was the result of his path — his disobedience toward God. These words echo and give the events deep meaning.
