π Central Bible Text for the Day
βI watched till thrones were put in place,
and the Ancient of Days was seated β¦
The court was seated, and the books were opened.β
β Daniel 7:9β10
π Devotion of the Day
After the stories of courage and faithfulness, God shows Daniel a vision of world history.
Four great beasts rise up out of the sea β symbols of earthly kingdoms that rise and then pass away.
The message is clear:
Human power is temporary.
Kingdoms come and go,
but Godβs plan remains.
In the midst of the unrest of the world empires, Daniel suddenly sees another scene:
the heavenly courtroom.
βThe Ancient of Days was seated.β
That means:
Above all chaos stands a righteous God,
who guides and judges history.
β¨ Judgment as Hope
For many people, judgment sounds threatening.
But Daniel 7 shows the opposite:
Judgment is good news for Godβs people.
βJudgment was given in favor of the saints of the Most High.β
β Daniel 7:22
Judgment brings oppression and injustice to an end.
It restores truth.
Ellen G. White wrote:
βJudgment is part of the good news, because it shows that Godβs kingdom is founded on righteousness.β
(The Great Controversy, p. 423)
If we belong to Christ,
judgment is not fear,
but hope.
πΏ The Son of Man
In the vision, a central figure appears:
βAnd behold, One like the Son of Man came with the clouds of heaven.β
β Daniel 7:13
This Son of Man is Christ.
He does not come as Judge against His people,
but as their representative.
Jesus stands for us in the judgment.
Ellen G. White wrote:
βChrist appears before the Father as the advocate of His people. His righteousness covers all who trust in Him.β
(The Great Controversy, p. 482)
What a hope:
Our Judge is also our Redeemer.
ποΈ The Eternal Kingdom
The vision does not end with judgment,
but with victory.
βBut the kingdom and dominion β¦
shall be given to the people, the saints of the Most High.β
β Daniel 7:27
All human kingdoms fall apart.
But Godβs kingdom remains forever.
This perspective gives peace:
We are not moving toward an uncertain end,
but toward a secure kingdom of love.
π Living in the Light of the Judgment
If the judgment is already taking place in heaven,
how then should we live?
Not in fear,
but in daily fellowship with Christ.
Faithfulness in small things,
trust in daily life,
love as a way of life β
these are signs of a heart prepared for the kingdom.
π Prayer
Dear Father in heaven,
thank You that You are a righteous and loving Judge.
Thank You that Jesus is my advocate in the judgment.
Help me to live in the light of eternity
and to trust You daily.
Do not let me be shaped by the uncertainties of this world,
but by the hope of Your coming kingdom.
Amen.
