✨ Introduction
Not every revelation feels good. Not every spiritual insight brings immediate joy or clarity. Some truths make us quiet. Some realizations carry a weight you first have to learn to bear. God does not reveal everything to impress us, but to wake us up—so that we become ready, learn to trust, and pray more deeply.
Daniel was a man who not only received wisdom, but also glimpses into things that shook him inside. His encounters with God did not lead him into comfort, but into reverence.

🛤️ Devotional – When God Pulls Back the Curtain of Time
Daniel was no beginner in faith anymore. Decades of service lay behind him. He had seen power and experienced the abuse of power. He had known deliverance and survived threats. And yet, in chapters 7 to 9 something new begins. God opens to Daniel a view into the future that reaches deeper than anything before.
It begins with a vision at night. Daniel sees four beasts, each more terrifying than the last. They stand for kingdoms and systems, for human power that comes and goes. Daniel sees judgment, a heavenly throne, and finally a Son of Man who is given an everlasting kingdom. These images are vast, overwhelming—and at the same time frightening.
What Daniel sees leaves him untouched. His spirit is troubled. His strength fails. He is shaken by what is shown to him. God does not remove the heaviness of these insights. Here, revelation does not mean relief, but responsibility.
Then more visions follow. Daniel sees a ram and a goat. He recognizes timelines, successions of kingdoms, the rise and fall of rulers. He sees desecration, violence, spiritual resistance. And he sees that in the end God intervenes—not through human power, but through his own action.
All of this is too much. Daniel becomes ill. He is exhausted. He is laid low for days. This shows us something important: spiritual insight is not a game. God does not give it lightly. And he does not give it to satisfy curiosity.
Daniel does not understand everything. He searches for meaning, for connections, for clarity. But not every answer comes immediately. Some things remain hidden. Some truths unfold only with time.
And yet Daniel remains faithful. He does not withdraw. He does not harden. He stays in prayer. He stays obedient. He bears the tension between what he has seen and what he still does not understand.
That may be his greatest strength—not that he understands everything, but that he trusts God even when understanding is missing.

💭 What Does This Mean for Us?
We too experience moments when God gives us insights that challenge us. Sometimes we recognize things about our lives, about this world, or about the paths ahead that unsettle us. Not everything God shows is immediately comforting. But everything he shows is carried by his faithfulness.
God invites us to trust him even when we do not have all the answers. He remains sovereign—even when the road ahead is unclear.

💎 What We Can Learn from Daniel
Revelation requires humility. Insight can cost strength. Not everything God shows must be understood right away. Faithfulness sometimes means continuing with unanswered questions. And faith means trusting God even in uncertainty.

🪜 Practical Steps for Today
Take time to quietly reflect on God’s Word without wanting to explain everything immediately. Bring your questions honestly before God. Accept that some answers take time. And hold on to this: God does not lead you into confusion, but into truth—step by step.
