β¨Β Devotional
In His High Priestly Prayer, Jesus intercedes not only for His first disciples but for each of us today.
-
Sanctification through truth
β To βsanctifyβ means to set apart for Godβs purposes, cleansing us from all that is impure.
β This purification doesnβt come by religious rituals but through Godβs truth. -
Godβs Word as our standard
β In a culture constantly offering new ideals and identities, Godβs Word is our unchanging compass.
β Every statement in Scripture reflects Godβs character and opens our eyes to His eternal nature. -
Personal transformation
β Reading Godβs Word does more than impart information: it penetrates our thoughts and actions (Hebrews 4:12).
β Honesty before God involves exposing our lies and refuge in falsehood and exchanging them for His truth. -
Community in truth
β Jesus prays not only for individuals but for a community united in truth.
β A genuine church speaks the truth of Godβs Wordβand offers loving correction and practical help in daily life.

π Story β βThe Invisible Ink Eraserβ
Lea discovered an old notebook in the library filled with handwritten notes. On the first page, in faded ink, she read:
βWith parchment ink eraser, you can make anything invisible.β
Intrigued, she tried it in her own diary, writing down embarrassing thoughts. Then she applied the eraserβand the words vanished. Relieved, she set the notebook aside.
The next morning at youth group, the pastor said: βWhat we try to erase often resurfacesβnot only in our thoughts but in our relationships.β He opened his Bible to John 17:17: βSanctify them in the truth; your word is truth.β
Lea felt a pang in her chest. All the thoughts sheβd hiddenβher self-doubts, fears, and small sinsβwere only made invisible, not erased. In that moment she realized: only Godβs Word can truly cleanse us.
After the service, she confided in a friend what she had written. Instead of judging her, her friend listened, prayed with her, and read Psalm 51:8: βWash meβ¦and I shall be whiter than snow.β Lea embraced Godβs promise: her heart was freedβnot by an ink eraser, but by the holy truth of Scripture.
