πŸ‘‘ The King is coming soon – Hope beyond the end

πŸ“… February 28 – Living in the Light of Eternity – Ready for the King

Monthly Theme: The Great Controversy – The Conflict Between Good and Evil
Yearly Theme 2026: β€œSoon the King Is Coming – Hope Beyond the End”

πŸ“– Central Bible Verse of the Day

β€œTherefore you also be ready;
for the Son of Man is coming at an hour you do not expect.”

β€” Matthew 24:44

πŸŒ… Devotion of the Day

The month is ending β€”
but the hope remains:
The King is coming soon.

All prophetic lines,
all battles of faith,
all the longings of human hearts
lead to this one goal:
Jesus Christ will return.

But the greatest question is not: When will He come?
Rather: Are we ready?

β€œLet your waist be girded and your lamps burning.”
β€” Luke 12:35

Readiness does not mean fear,
but a life of trusting expectation.
Like people who know
that their beloved King is on His way.

Ellen G. White wrote:

β€œChrist desires His people to live in joyful expectation.
Watchfulness does not mean fear,
but faithful devotion in daily life.”
(Maranatha, p. 356)

✨ Living with Eternity in View

Whoever lives in the light of eternity
reorders today.

Small worries lose their power,
earthly successes lose their shine,
when we know that an eternal home awaits us.

β€œFor here we have no continuing city,
but we seek the one to come.”

β€” Hebrews 13:14

This does not mean leaving the world β€”
but seeing it with the eyes of heaven.
Every encounter can have eternal significance.

Ellen G. White wrote:

β€œThe hope of Christ’s return
purifies the life and lifts the thoughts upward.
It makes the Christian serious, yet joyful.”
(The Great Controversy, p. 299)

🌿 To Be Ready Means: Living with Christ

Readiness is not perfection,
but relationship.

The wise virgins had oil β€”
a symbol of the Holy Spirit (Matthew 25).
They did not merely wait,
they lived in constant connection with God.

β€œAbide in Me, and I in you.”
β€” John 15:4

Whoever walks daily with Christ
will not be surprised when He comes.

Ellen G. White wrote:

β€œThe preparation for Christ’s return does not happen in a moment,
but in daily walking with Jesus.”
(Christ’s Object Lessons, p. 420)

πŸ•ŠοΈ Hope That Sustains

The world is full of uncertainty,
but the hope of the gospel remains firm.

β€œThis hope we have as an anchor of the soul,
both sure and steadfast.”

β€” Hebrews 6:19

Looking to the returning King
gives strength in trials,
courage in darkness,
and peace in the midst of the storm.

The hope of the Second Coming is not an escape from reality,
but the deepest foundation for faithful living today.

πŸŒ„ The Final Call

The Bible ends with an invitation:

β€œAnd the Spirit and the bride say, β€˜Come!’
… And let him who thirsts come.”

β€” Revelation 22:17

And Christ answers:

β€œSurely I am coming quickly.”
β€” Revelation 22:20

This is the final promise of Scripture β€”
and the last word of hope.

Ellen G. White wrote:

β€œThe second coming of Christ is the golden chain
that binds together all the promises of God.”
(The Great Controversy, p. 299)

πŸ™ Prayer

Dear Father in heaven,
thank You for the hope of Jesus’ soon return.

Teach me to live in the light of eternity
and to shape each day in faithfulness.

Keep my heart awake,
my love alive,
and my faith strong.

Let me be ready
when the heavens open
and the King appears.

Amen.

πŸ’ Thought for the Day

β€œThose who wait for Christ’s return
do not live in fear of the future,
but in joy at the coming of their Friend.”
β€” Ellen G. White, Maranatha, p. 361

πŸ’‘ Personal Application

  1. Read Matthew 24:42–51 and Revelation 22:12–20.
What does β€œbeing ready” personally mean for you?

  2. Pray: β€œLord, help me to live today as if You were coming soon.”

  3. Practical:
Encourage someone today with the hope of Christ’s return β€”
    a word, a message, or a prayer.

🌺 Closing Verse

β€œHe who testifies to these things says, β€˜Surely I am coming quickly.’
Amen. Even so, come, Lord Jesus!”
