π 1 Kings Chapter 10 β The Queen of Sheba Visits Solomon
π Great Questions, Great Treasures β and a Great Encounter
π Introduction
When you hear something exciting β do you want to see it with your own eyes?
Thatβs how the Queen of Sheba felt.
She had heard about a king who was wiser than anyone else.
A king who knew God.
A king who ruled a great people well.
A king whose wisdom was known everywhere.
So she set out on a journey β
with many camels, riddles, and gifts in her luggage.
π The Bible story
The Queen of Sheba lived far in the south β
in a rich land filled with gold, spices, and precious stones.
But money was not what she lacked.
What she was searching for was truth.
She had questions no one could answer.
Then she heard about Solomon β
about his wisdom, his fear of God, and his magnificent temple.
So she planned a journey.
A long, exhausting caravan with many servants,
precious gifts, and a list full of difficult riddles.
π€ A Test for Solomon
When she finally arrived in Jerusalem,
she was warmly welcomed.
She asked Solomon her tricky questions.
And: Solomon was able to answer every single one!
The longer she stayed,
the more she was amazed:
ποΈ By the temple
π° By Solomonβs palace
π By the clothing of the servants
π½οΈ By the food
π By the order and wisdom in everything
In the end, she was speechless.
She said:
βI heard much about youβ¦
but what I now see is even greater.
Your wisdom and your kingdom are wonderful!
Your God has greatly blessed you β
and your people are happy to have such a wise king.β
π Gifts Full of Honor
The queen brought huge amounts of gold,
precious spices and jewels β
more than anyone had ever brought to Israel before.
It was a sign:
She recognized that Solomon was truly blessed by God.
Solomon also gave her valuable gifts.
But the most valuable thing she took with her
was something you cannot carry in your hands:
π Knowledge and reverence for the true God.

π Invitation to 1 Kings Chapter 11
β οΈ A Wise King β Who Slowly Forgets God
Solomon was famous, wise, and rich.
He had experienced Godβs blessing like almost no one else.
But in chapter 11 something sad happens:
π Solomon no longer fully listens to God.
π He allows himself to be influenced by other people.
How could that happen?
And what can we learn from it?
π Teaser for Chapter 11
Solomon loved many women from foreign countries.
And many of them did not believe in the God of Israel.
Over time, even Solomon
began to drift away from God.
He built altars for foreign gods.
He no longer listened carefully to Godβs voice.
Then God spoke seriously to him:
π βBecause you have broken My command,
your kingdom will be torn apart β but only after your death.β
Chapter 11 shows us:
π Even the wisest people need a listening heart
π and the courage not to forget God when life is going well.
