Where God’s miracles grow big – for little and big children

πŸ“– 1 Kings Chapter 5 – The Dream of the Temple

πŸ—οΈ When a Whole Nation Builds for God

πŸŒ… Introduction

Some people dream of building a big house.
Others want a park, a playground, or a treehouse.
But Solomon had a much bigger dream:
He wanted to build a house for God Himself.
A place where people could meet God, pray, and celebrate.
Not for himselfβ€”but for the whole nation.

πŸ“– The Bible story

Solomon was now king over all Israel.
He had peace with the neighboring nations.
The people were safe, joyful, and well provided for.

Then Solomon remembered a special promise:
His father David had once said to God:

β€œI want to build You a house, Lordβ€”a temple.”
But God had answered:

β€œNot you, Davidβ€”your son will do it.”

Now Solomon was king.
And he knew:

β€œI may do it. I may build the temple.”
But such a building project was enormousβ€”
much bigger than a palace.
It was meant to be holyβ€”beautiful, strong, and full of reverence.

πŸͺ΅ Help from Abroad

Solomon was wise.
He knew: For such a house you need the best materials.
So he wrote a letter to King Hiram of Tyre, a neighboring country.
Hiram had been a friend of Solomon’s father David.

Solomon asked him:

β€œHelp me get the best cedar trees from Lebanon.
Your men are skilled at cutting timber.
We will send workers to work alongside yours.
And we will provide you with foodβ€”every day.”

King Hiram was delighted.
He said:

β€œPraise be to the Lord, who has given you such a wise king!”
And he sent men, wood, tools, and help.

🧱 Many Helpers – One Goal

Now the great preparation began.
Solomon assigned thousands of workers:

πŸͺ΅ Some cut down trees in the mountains.
πŸͺ“ Others shaped stones in the quarries.
🚚 Still others transported materials to Jerusalem.

It was a huge plan.
And everyone worked togetherβ€”for one goal:

To build a house that honors God.

No one worked for themselves.
It wasn’t about money, fame, or power.
It was about God’s name.

🟣 Summary

Solomon was allowed to do what his father had only dreamed of:
to build the temple.

But before construction began,
many things had to be prepared:
🌿 wood, stones, plans, agreements, workers, transport …

Chapter 5 shows:
God’s great plans require patience, teamworkβ€”
and a heart that beats for Him alone.

πŸ’š Message for Children Today

Some things take time.
But if you do something for Godβ€”
no matter how small it seemsβ€”
it is valuable.

Solomon wanted to honor God.
He wanted God’s house to become a place of joy and reverence.
And so he beganβ€”step by step.

You too can prepare things for God:
with your gifts, with love, with good ideas.
