π 1 Kings Chapter 4 β A King Full of Wisdom
π§ How Solomon Was Able to Rule a Whole Country Well
π Introduction
Some people have lots of ideas.
Others are good at planning.
And still others are good at listening and making good decisions.
But Solomon had something very special:
π He had a listening heart, given by God Himself.
Now it was time to show
how wisdom is not only about speaking clever words,
but about leading an entire nation well.
π The Bible story
Solomon was still youngβ
but God had filled him with wisdom.
Not so he could show off,
but so he could rule justly.
Israel had grown.
There were many cities, many people, many tasks.
So Solomon got to work:
𧱠He divided the land into twelve districts.
π For each district he appointed a leaderβan administrator.
π₯ They were to make sure everyone had enough to eat,
that grain was collected,
and that no one was forgotten.
The people noticed:
π Solomon thinks of everyoneβnot only of himself.
ποΈ Peace and Prosperity
Under Solomonβs leadership, Israel lived in peace.
There were no major wars.
People could work, build, harvest, and celebrate in peace.
Everyone lived under their vine and under their fig treeβ
meaning:
Everyone was provided for. Everyone felt safe.
Animals were raised.
Grain was ground.
And there was even room for art, music, and poetry.
For Solomon was not only a kingβ
he was also a poet and a thinker.
He wrote many proverbs and songsβ
about trees, animals, life, and what is good and evil.
π Visitors from the Whole World
Solomonβs reputation spread far beyond Israelβs borders.
Kings in other countries heard:
βThere is a young king in Israel
who is wiser than anyone we know.β
And they came.
π§π³ββοΈ Some sent gifts.
πΆ Others came with long caravans.
ποΈ Many asked questionsβand Solomon answered calmly and wisely.
God had truly given him wisdom.
And Solomon used it not for himself,
but to serve others.
π£ Summary
Solomon was not a king who simply wanted to rule.
He wanted the people to be well.
So he put everything in order with wisdomβ
and provided justice, peace, and prosperity.
His wisdom did not come from booksβ
it came from God.
And he used it with love and understanding.
π Message for Children Today
Wisdom is more than good grades or clever sayings.
Wisdom means listening, understandingβ
and then acting rightly.
Solomon shows us:
π Whoever asks God for help
and listens with their heart,
can be a blessing to many people.
You too can show in your family, at school, or with friends
that a wise heart is worth more than a thousand words.
π Thought Starter
πΉ What does it mean to you to have a βlistening heartβ?
πΉ Where can you help bring calm, peace, or order by the way you act?
πΉ Do you know someone who is wise? What makes him or her special?

π Invitation to 1 Kings Chapter 5
ποΈ A Temple for God β Solomonβs Greatest Dream Begins
The young King Solomon had a lot of wisdomβ
but now he wants to build something
that is greater than anything that has ever stood in Israel:
π A house for Godβs presence.
π A place where people can pray and meet God.
π A temple that shows: God lives among His people.
In Chapter 5 the great preparation begins.
People from many countries help.
Because what Solomon is planning is holyβ
and meant for God alone.
π Teaser for Chapter 5
Solomon prepares
to let Godβs promise become reality.
His father David had longed for itβ
but now Solomon is allowed to do it:
build the temple of the Lord.
For that he needs:
πͺ΅ wood from the mountains
π·ββοΈ workers with skillful hands
π€ friendship with other kings
𧱠and a plan that honors Godβnot people.
Chapter 5 shows us:
π Great things require preparation.
π And whoever builds for God does it with reverenceβand with heart.
