Yearly Theme 2026: β€œSoon the King Is Coming – Hope Beyond the End”

πŸ“– Central Bible Text of the Day

β€œThe LORD will roar from Zion
and thunder from Jerusalem;
the earth and the heavens will tremble.
But the LORD will be a refuge for His people,
a stronghold for the children of Israel.”

β€” Joel 3:16

πŸŒ… Devotional for the Day

When the night of tribulation is at its darkest,
when the children of God pray for their lives
and all the powers of the earth are gathered against them β€”
then the voice of God resounds.

It is not a voice of terror,
but of deliverance.
It breaks the silence of the centuries,
announces the end of human power
and the beginning of Christ’s eternal reign.

β€œAnd the seventh angel poured out his bowl into the air,
and a loud voice came out of the temple from the throne, saying,
β€˜It is done!’”

β€” Revelation 16:17

Ellen G. White wrote:

β€œThe voice of God will announce the day and hour of Jesus’ coming.
It will deliver His people
who were held in fear of death.
His words will shake the earth,
but to the righteous they are music and life.”
(The Great Controversy, p. 640)

✨ The Power of the Divine Voice

From the beginning of the world,
God’s voice has been the source of all life:

β€œAnd God said, β€˜Let there be light,’ and there was light.”
β€” Genesis 1:3

That same voice
which created the world through the Word
will also redeem and renew it.
It called Lazarus from the grave;
it will call the righteous from the dust of the earth.

β€œFor the Lord Himself will descend from heaven
with a shout, with the voice of the archangel
and with the trumpet of God.
And the dead in Christ will rise first.”

β€” 1 Thessalonians 4:16

But before Jesus appears,
this voice will sound
to deliver the faithful
who have remained steadfast during the plagues and the time of Jacob’s trouble.

🌿 The Deliverance of God’s People

The world has despised God’s law
and fought against His commandments.
A death decree against the faithful was issued (Revelation 13:15),
and they seem lost.
But at the decisive moment,
God Himself intervenes.

β€œGod is our refuge and strength,
a very present help in trouble.
Therefore we will not fear,
though the earth be removed.”

β€” Psalm 46:1–2

An earthquake shakes the earth,
heaven and earth tremble,
and a voice like thunder declares:

β€œIt is done!” (Revelation 16:17)

Ellen White describes:

β€œIn the midst of the terrible scenes,
when the wicked are about to rush upon the righteous,
a voice is heard: β€˜It is done!’
A terrible earthquake follows,
and the enemies of God are scattered.
The faithful, who prayed in anguish of soul,
are delivered.”
(The Great Controversy, p. 636)

πŸ”₯ The Voice That Gives Life

After the deliverance, God’s voice sounds again β€”
this time to call forth eternal life.
The graves open,
and the saints of all ages are raised.

β€œAll who are in the graves
will hear His voice and come forth.”

β€” John 5:28–29

It is the beginning of the great redemption:
the dead in Christ rise,
the living are transformed,
and all together are caught up
to meet the Lord in the clouds.

β€œAnd thus we shall always be with the Lord.”
β€” 1 Thessalonians 4:17

Ellen White wrote:

β€œWhen God speaks,
the earth will tremble,
and the graves will open.
His people will raise the song of victory:
β€˜Behold, this is our God; we have waited for Him,
and He will save us!’”
(The Great Controversy, p. 644)

πŸŒ„ Peace After the Storm

When God’s voice has spoken,
silence follows β€”
a holy calm after the chaos.
The conflict is over.
The children of God are delivered,
healed, and united.

β€œPeace, peace to him who is far off and to him who is near,” says the LORD,
β€œand I will heal him.”

β€” Isaiah 57:19

The Sun of Righteousness rises,
no longer behind clouds,
but in glory.
The work of redemption is complete.

Ellen White wrote:

β€œThe voice of God,
which shook heaven and earth,
brings rest and deliverance to His people.
Now they know:
Their redemption is near.”
(Maranatha, p. 312)

πŸ™ Prayer

Almighty Father,
I thank You for Your mighty voice
that creates, redeems, and delivers.

Teach me today
to listen to Your gentle voice in my heart,
so that I may recognize it
when it sounds in power and glory.

Strengthen my faith in the silence,
that I may trust You when the earth trembles.

I want to be among those
who rejoice when You declare:
β€œIt is done!”

Amen.

πŸ’ Thought for the Day

β€œThose who listen today to the gentle voice of the Spirit
will one day hear the voice of God
that calls the dead and delivers the righteous.”
β€” Ellen G. White, Maranatha, p. 313

πŸ’‘ Personal Application

  1. Read Joel 3 (or 4), Revelation 16:17–21, and 1 Thessalonians 4:13–18.
Reflect on how God’s voice has always brought life throughout history.

  2. Pray: β€œLord, teach me to recognize Your voice today and to follow it.”

  3. Practical step:
    Seek intentional silence today.
    Turn off all noise,
    read a psalm,
and listen to what God speaks into your heart.

🌺 Closing Verse

β€œAnd it will be said in that day:
β€˜Behold, this is our God; we have waited for Him,
that He might save us.
This is the LORD; we have waited for Him;
let us be glad and rejoice in His salvation!’”

β€” Isaiah 25:9
