๐Ÿ‘‘ The King Is Coming Soon โ€“ Hope Beyond the End

๐ŸŒ April 4 โ€“ Natural disasters: Creation groans

Monthly theme: The signs of the times โ€“ Watching and praying
Yearly theme 2026: โ€œSoon the King is coming โ€“ Hope beyond the endโ€

๐Ÿ“– Central Bible text of the day

โ€œFor there will be famines and earthquakes in various places.โ€
โ€” Matthew 24:7

๐ŸŒ… Devotional of the day

Earthquakes, floods, droughts โ€”
our world is increasingly showing its fragility.

Jesus spoke of this as part of the signs of the times.
But He added:

โ€œAll these are the beginning of birth pains.โ€
โ€” Matthew 24:8

The image is meaningful:
Birth pains are painful โ€”
but they lead to new life.

โœจ Creation suffers

The Bible describes that not only humans suffer,
but all creation.

โ€œFor we know that the whole creation groans together and suffers together.โ€
โ€” Romans 8:22

Sin has affected not only the human heart,
but the entire world.

Ellen G. White wrote:
โ€œNature bears the marks of the curse of sin and reveals the consequences of separation from God.โ€
(The Great Controversy, p. 589)

๐ŸŒฟ A sign of restoration

Natural disasters are not only signs of destruction,
but also indications
that this world is not in its original state.

They remind us:
God has prepared something better.

โ€œBehold, I make all things new.โ€
โ€” Revelation 21:5

๐Ÿ•Š๏ธ Hope in the midst of suffering

When we see suffering,
it can shake our hearts.

But God invites us
not to fall into hopelessness.

He sees every suffering.
He forgets no tear.

Ellen G. White wrote:
โ€œGod will wipe away every tear and create a world where there will be no more pain.โ€
(The Great Controversy, p. 678)

๐ŸŒ„ A life of compassion

The signs of the times should not harden us,
but make us sensitive.

We are called to:

  • help where we can
  • comfort those who suffer
  • bring hope where there is fear

In this way we reflect Godโ€™s heart.

๐Ÿ™ Prayer

Dear Heavenly Father,
when I see the suffering in this world,
it moves my heart.

Help me not to become indifferent,
but to act with compassion.

Strengthen my hope in the new earth,
which You have promised.

And use me,
to bring light and comfort to others.

Amen.

๐Ÿ’ญ Thought for the day

โ€œThe suffering creation reminds us that Godโ€™s restoration is near.โ€
โ€” Ellen G. White

๐Ÿ’ก Personal application

  1. Read Romans 8:18โ€“23.
    What hope is described there?
  2. Pray: โ€œLord, give me a compassionate heart.โ€
  3. Practical: Today, intentionally support someone who needs help or encouragement.

๐ŸŒบ Closing verse

โ€œAnd God will wipe away every tear from their eyes.โ€
โ€” Revelation 21:4
