🪨 May 21 – Faithful While Waiting: Standing Firm Until the End

Monthly Theme: The Cross and the Second Coming – The Victory of Love
Yearly Theme 2026: “The King Is Coming Soon – Hope Beyond the End”

📖 Central Bible Verse of the Day

“But the one who endures to the end will be saved.”
Matthew 24:13

🌅 Devotional of the Day

Waiting is part of faith. Between what Christ accomplished on the cross and His return lies a time in which we are called to remain faithful. This waiting is not empty or meaningless, but a place where our trust is tested and strengthened.

Faithfulness becomes especially visible when the journey seems longer than expected. When answers do not come or challenges increase, it becomes clear what our faith is built upon. In such moments, it is not about understanding everything, but about holding on to the truth that God is faithful.

The Bible repeatedly speaks about perseverance. This perseverance is not passive endurance, but an active holding on to God. It is a trust that remains firm even when circumstances are difficult.

Steadfastness in Faith

Steadfastness does not appear suddenly; it develops over time. It grows where we repeatedly choose to trust God again and again.

Ellen G. White wrote:
“Steadfastness in faith is formed in times of trial.”
(Maranatha, p. 44)

These trials are not meaningless. They deepen our faith and make it strong and enduring.

🌿 Faithfulness in Everyday Life

Faithfulness is not shown only in great decisions, but also in daily life. It is the small steps that matter: remaining in prayer, taking God’s Word seriously, and doing what is right even in ordinary moments.

This constant faithfulness shapes our character and prepares us for what is to come.

Ellen G. White wrote:
“Faithfulness in little things prepares a person for greater responsibilities.”
(Christ’s Object Lessons, p. 356)

🕊️ Keeping the Promise in View

Waiting has a purpose. Jesus promised to return, and His promises are trustworthy. This certainty gives us strength to continue moving forward.

Being faithful while waiting means not losing sight of the goal. It means keeping our eyes fixed on what is ahead, even when the road is difficult.

🙏 Prayer

Dear Heavenly Father,
help me remain faithful in times of waiting.

When my faith grows weak,
strengthen my trust in You.

Teach me to stand firm
and to hold on to Your promises.

Lead me through every trial
and keep me close to You.

Amen.
