β€œSanctify them by Your truth; Your word is truth.”
β€” John 17:17

πŸŒ… Devotional of the Day

In a world where truth often seems negotiable, the heavenly judgment reminds us that God’s standard remains unchangeable. People can change opinions, shift values, and justify today what was wrong yesterday. But God’s truth remains firm.

God’s judgment is not based on human moods, social trends, or personal excuses. It is based on truth. That is why it is just. God does not judge arbitrarily, but according to His perfect character and His revealed Word.

For God’s children, this is not a threat, but a help. Because when truth stands firm, it gives orientation. We do not have to live in the fog or constantly ask ourselves which voice we should follow. God has given His Word so that we may know who He is, what He loves, and what path He has prepared for us.

Yet in the Bible, truth is never merely information. It seeks to reach the heart. Jesus prayed: β€œSanctify them by Your truth.” This means: God’s truth is not only meant to instruct us, but to transform us. It should cleanse our thinking, shape our decisions, and direct our lives toward Christ.

✨ God’s Word as the Standard

In the judgment it will become visible that God’s Word is reliable. It is not one voice among many, but the standard by which truth and error become recognizable.

Ellen G. White wrote:

β€œThe law of God is the standard by which character will be tested in the judgment.”

(The Great Controversy, p. 482)

This statement reminds us that God’s commandments are not an expression of harshness, but a revelation of His character. They show how love, faithfulness, and righteousness become visible in life.

🌿 Truth and Grace Belong Together

Sometimes truth without grace is understood as harsh, and grace without truth as superficial. But in Christ, both meet perfectly.

Jesus is full of grace and truth. He does not expose guilt in order to destroy, but in order to save. He shows us the truth about ourselves so that we may accept His grace and be transformed.

Ellen G. White wrote:

β€œChrist came to reveal truth and grace in perfect harmony.”

(The Desire of Ages, p. 24)

Therefore, we do not need to fear God’s truth. It leads us to Christ.

πŸ•ŠοΈ Living in the Truth

Living in the light of the judgment means not only knowing God’s truth, but giving it room in our lives. It means making decisions not according to convenience, but according to God’s will.

This happens step by step. The Holy Spirit leads us deeper into the truth and shows us where our lives may come into harmony with Christ.

πŸ™ Prayer

Dear Father in heaven,

thank You for Your Word, which is truth.

Help me not only to know Your truth, but to let it work in my life.

Keep me from self-deception and from paths that lead me away from You.

Guide me through Your Spirit and shape my character according to Your will.

Let me live in the light of Your truth and at the same time trust firmly in Your grace.

Amen.
