βοΈ Esther Chapter 7 β The Truth Comes to Light
π½οΈ When Esther Finally Speaks
π Introduction
Haman had been brought to the queenβs second banquet. That very morning he had still hoped to get rid of Mordecai. But everything had turned out differently. Instead of seeing Mordecai die, Haman had been forced to lead him publicly through the city and honor him.
Now he was sitting in the palace again, invited by Queen Esther. Perhaps he tried to hide his uneasiness. Perhaps he hoped that the honor of this banquet would make him forget the humiliation of the morning.
The king was also eager to know more. At the first banquet Esther had already announced a request, but she had not yet spoken it. Now Ahasuerus finally wanted to know what was on his queenβs heart.
In this chapter, the moment arrives toward which everything has been moving. Esther is silent no longer. The truth is spoken, and Haman suddenly has to realize that his own plans are falling back on him.
π The Biblical Story
π The King Asks Again
During the second banquet, King Ahasuerus turned once again to Esther. He had already promised before to grant her request, and now he asked her once more what she desired.
For Esther, this was the decisive moment. She had waited, fasted, prayed, and acted step by step. Now she could no longer remain silent.
Perhaps her heart was pounding as she spoke before the king. But her words were clear. She asked for her life and for the life of her people.
With this, she told the king something he had not expected. The queen herself was in danger. And not only she, but her entire people.
π¨ The King Wants to Know the Truth
Ahasuerus was shocked. Who would dare to do such a thing to the queen and her people?
Then Esther spoke the truth. The enemy and adversary was Haman.
At that moment, everything changed. Haman, who had just been sitting at the table as an honored guest, was suddenly exposed as the man who wanted to destroy Estherβs people.
The king became very angry and left the room to go into the palace garden. Haman stayed behind and knew that his situation was dangerous.
He had sought power, wanted honor, and devised a cruel plan. Now he stood before the queen whose people he had wanted to destroy.
π Haman Begs for His Life
Haman realized that the king was no longer on his side. In his fear, he turned to Esther and begged her for mercy.
But when the king returned, the situation looked even worse for Haman. Ahasuerus became even angrier, and his servants immediately understood that Hamanβs time was over.
Then one of the servants reminded the king of the high gallows that Haman had built for Mordecai. This very Mordecai had once saved the kingβs life.
Then the king ordered that Haman be punished on that very gallows.
π Hamanβs Plan Falls Back on Him
What Haman had prepared for Mordecai now happened to him. The man who wanted to destroy others was brought down by his own plan.
For Esther and Mordecai, this was an important step, but the danger was not yet completely over. Hamanβs evil plan had been exposed, but the law against the Jews still remained.
Even so, something decisive had happened that day. The truth had come to light. The king had recognized who Haman really was. Esther had spoken courageously, and God had guided events in such a way that Hamanβs power was broken.
A banquet became a turning point in the whole story.
π What This Chapter Shows
This chapter shows that truth is stronger than lies. Haman was able to hide his plan for a while, but in the end everything came to light.
We also see how important Estherβs courage was. Because she spoke, the king was able to learn what had really happened.

π Message for Children Today
It is important to tell the truth at the right time. Courageous words can help others and make injustice visible.
God also sees what people want to hide, and He can bring justice.
