π Devotional of the Day
Many people view the judgment mainly from the human perspective. They ask who will be saved, who will be lost, and how God will judge. But the Bible shows that the heavenly judgment has an even greater purpose. It reveals Godβs character before the entire universe.
Since the origin of sin, Satan has sown doubts about Godβs nature. He questioned Godβs love, doubted His justice, and claimed that His commandments were a restriction of freedom. Therefore, the great controversy between good and evil is not only about human beings, but also about the question of whether Godβs rule is truly just.
The judgment answers this question once and for all. It shows that God has always acted rightly. Every decision, every leading, and every action of God will be recognized as perfectly just and full of love. Nothing will remain hidden. The entire universe will see that God has never acted unfairly, cruelly, or arbitrarily.
For us, this is a great hope. Often we do not fully understand Godβs ways. Some prayers seem to remain unanswered. Some events appear mysterious. But the judgment promises that one day everything will become clear.
β¨ Godβs Name Will Be Vindicated
The judgment does not serve to provide God with information. He already knows everything. Rather, it makes His justice visible to all created beings.
In the end, no one will be able to say that God made a mistake.
Ellen G. White wrote:
βBefore the entire universe, the justice and mercy of God will be fully vindicated.β
(The Great Controversy, p. 670)
This is one of the greatest purposes of the judgment.
πΏ Trust Even Without Answers
Today we often live with open questions. Why does suffering happen? Why does God not always intervene immediately? Why do some paths unfold differently than expected?
The judgment does not promise that we must already understand everything now. It invites us to trust Godβs character.
Ellen G. White wrote:
βWhen we fully understand Godβs ways, we will see that He has always acted out of love.β
(Maranatha, p. 346)
This hope helps us hold on even when we have no answers.
ποΈ A Universe Without Doubt
When the judgment is completed, there will be no more doubts about Godβs nature. The entire universe will testify that His love is perfect and His justice is true.
In this way, peace will be secured for eternity. Never again will the question arise whether Godβs rule is just.
What is still accepted by faith today will then be visible.
π Prayer
Dear Heavenly Father,
thank You that Your ways are just and true.
Even when I do not always understand everything, I want to learn to trust Your character.
Help me to look to Your love when questions and doubts come.
Thank You that the judgment will show how perfect Your justice and Your grace are.
Strengthen my trust in You and lead me each day closer to Your heart.
Amen.

The judgment reveals not only Godβs decisions, but above all Godβs character.
