πŸ‘‘ The King Is Coming Soon – Hope Beyond the End

πŸ“’ June 18 – The Message of the First Angel: Judgment as Gospel

Monthly theme: The Heavenly Judgment – Justice and Grace
Annual theme 2026: β€œSoon the King Is Coming – Hope Beyond the End”

πŸ“– Central Bible Text of the Day

β€œAnd I saw another angel flying in the midst of heaven, having the everlasting gospel to preach to those who dwell on the earth, to every nation, tribe, tongue, and people.”
β€” Revelation 14:6

πŸŒ… Devotional of the Day

The message of the first angel does not begin with judgment, but with the everlasting gospel. That is important. Before the Bible says, β€œThe hour of His judgment has come,” it first shows that this message belongs within the framework of the good news.

God does not announce the judgment in order to drive people into fear. He proclaims it as part of His plan of salvation. The judgment is embedded in the gospel because it shows that God is leading history toward a just and gracious goal. It makes visible that sin, suffering, and injustice will not remain forever.

The angel flies in the midst of heaven. The image shows urgency, public visibility, and worldwide significance. This message is not intended for a small group, but for all people. God wants the whole world to know: there is hope, there is truth, and there is a Redeemer who will soon return.

Judgment and gospel belong together because Christ is at the center. Without Jesus, the judgment would be frightening. With Jesus, it becomes good news. For the One who judges is the same One who died for us and who today intercedes for us.

✨ A Worldwide Message

The message of the first angel is universal. It is directed to every nation, every language, and every people. This shows God’s heart. He does not want to exclude anyone.

Ellen G. White wrote:

β€œThe message of the first angel is both a warning and an invitation of grace to the whole world.”

(The Great Controversy, p. 355)

This message calls people not only to understanding, but to decision.

🌿 The Everlasting Gospel

The gospel is everlasting because it has its origin in God’s character. It is not a short-term solution, but God’s eternal plan of salvation.

At the center stands Christ: His sacrifice, His intercession, and His soon return.

Ellen G. White wrote:

β€œThe gospel is the revelation of God’s love to a lost world.”

(The Desire of Ages, p. 19)

When we see the judgment in the light of this gospel, we recognize God’s faithfulness in it.

πŸ•ŠοΈ Living as Bearers of This Message

The message of the first angel is not only information about the end time. It is a commission. God’s people are called to make this hope visible in word and life.

This does not happen through fear, but through a life that reflects God’s character: truth, love, patience, and faithfulness.

πŸ™ Prayer

Dear Father in heaven,

thank You for the everlasting gospel, which brings hope to all people.

Help me to understand the judgment in the light of Your grace.

Give me courage to share Your truth with love.

Let my life be a testimony of Your goodness and prepare my heart for Your coming.

Lead me so that others may recognize something of Your hope through my life.

Amen.
