π Devotional of the Day
A life of faith is a journey with a clear goal. The Bible does not describe this journey as aimless, but as a conscious movement toward something God has prepared. Paul uses the image of a runner who keeps his goal firmly in view and does not allow himself to be distracted.
Our lives, too, are shaped by many influences. Expectations, responsibilities, and worries can narrow our view. But those who know the goal live differently. The direction becomes clearer, and decisions gain new meaning.
The goal the Bible speaks of is not only a place, but fellowship with God. It is the completion of what began at the cross. This perspective gives life depth and direction.
β¨ Focused on what matters most
When the goal is clear, some things lose their weight. This does not mean they are unimportant, but they no longer determine the whole of life.
Ellen G. White wrote:
βThose who keep the heavenly glory before their eyes will not allow the things of this world to control them.β
(Maranatha, p. 302)
This focus helps us set priorities and walk our path consciously.
πΏ Step by step
The path toward the goal consists of many small steps. It is daily decisions that determine our direction. Faithfulness in small things leads us forward, even when we do not always see the whole picture.
It is not about running perfectly, but about continuing forward. Even when we stumble, we may rise again and refocus our gaze.
Ellen G. White wrote:
βPerseverance in faith ultimately leads to victory.β
(Christβs Object Lessons, p. 332)
ποΈ Living in expectation
The expectation of glory is not an escape from the present. It is a strength that carries us through everyday life. It helps us not to stand still, but to keep moving forward.
Those who keep the goal before their eyes live more consciously, more hopefully, and more decisively.
π Prayer
Dear Father in heaven,
help me not to lose sight of the goal.
When things distract or discourage me,
turn my eyes back to You.
Give me perseverance on my path
and trust in Your guidance.
Lead me step by step
until I reach completion with You.
Amen.
