Series: GROWING IN A RELATIONSHIP WITH GOD with Pastor Mark Finley
π£οΈ Lesson 12: Share Him
β¨ Sharing Godβs love β through words and through life
Introduction:
Every Christian is called by Jesus to be a witness of His love and grace. Witnessing does not mean only speaking, but above all living from a living relationship with Christ. In this lesson, we discover that Godβs love is the driving force behind every mission and that people are reached most powerfully through authentic relationships. We learn how to speak about our faith with wisdom, patience, and compassion. At the same time, we are reminded that God does not give up even on those who have moved away from Him. Through prayer, lived-out love, and the work of the Holy Spirit, we may be instruments to lead people closer to Jesus.

β€οΈ 12.1 Out of the Overflow
Speaking of Jesus because the heart is filled with Him
Jesus commissioned His followers to share the gospel with all people and to make them disciples. Witnessing does not necessarily mean preaching or conducting complicated Bible studies, but telling others about personal experiences with God. Peter and John did not impress people through special education, but because it was visible that they had lived with Jesus. Their hearts were so filled with Christ that they could not remain silent. Even today, the strongest testimony comes from a living relationship with Jesus and from the love that the Holy Spirit places in our hearts. Whoever experiences Godβs work in their own life will naturally have the desire to share this hope with others.
π€ 12.2 Unforced but With Power
Godβs love is the strongest motivation for our witness
Jesus was not guided in His ministry by a sense of duty, but by deep love and compassion for people. God wants to place that same love in our hearts so that we may lead others to Him. True witnessing does not happen through pressure, coercion, or arguments, but through love, patience, and a credible life. God respects each personβs freedom and invites rather than forces; therefore, we should act in the same way. Our personal testimony and our lived relationship with Christ often speak more powerfully than many words. The more we grow in the grace and knowledge of Jesus, the more our words and behavior will reflect His love.
π¬ 12.3 Tips for Sharing Jesus
Sharing faith naturally and lovingly
Speaking of Jesus often does not begin with a sermon, but with a genuine relationship. Peter reminds us to always be ready to explain our hope and faith, yet with gentleness and respect. People are often first touched by kindness, interest, and practical love for others before they become open to spiritual topics. Prayer plays a central role in this, because the Holy Spirit opens hearts and provides the right opportunities for conversations. Our personal testimony about what Jesus has done in our lives can often have more impact than many arguments. When words and actions agree, our life becomes a credible sign pointing to Christ.
π 12.4 A Wandering Child
Godβs hope for people who have moved away
One of the most painful experiences is when a loved one turns away from God. However, the story of Ephraim shows that Godβs love does not cease, even when people go their own way. Although God speaks clearly about sin, His heart remains full of compassion and longing for the return of His children. Jeremiah 31 makes it clear that there is hope, even when the situation appears hopeless. God forgets no one and does not give up on anyone too quickly. This truth encourages us to continue praying for our loved ones, to meet them with love, and to trust that Godβs grace is still at work.
π€² 12.5 Bring Them Back
Godβs love never stops searching
When people move away from God, we often feel helpless, sad, or disappointed. However, Zechariah 10 reminds us that God does not give up on His children, but lovingly wants to call them back and restore them. Our most important task is not to pressure or condemn people, but to treat them with the same patience and love that God shows us. A credible Christian life, marked by peace, hope, and selfless love, can often accomplish more than many words. Prayer plays a decisive role, because God can reach hearts where we reach our limits. Ephesians 3:17β19 encourages us to be ever more deeply rooted in the love of Christ, so that this love can flow through us to other people.
β¨12.6 Summary
Witnessing from a living relationship with Jesus
Witnessing does not begin with special abilities, but with a personal experience with Jesus. Whoever experiences Godβs love and grace in their own life will have the desire to share this hope with others. True witness does not work through coercion or pressure, but through love, compassion, prayer, and authentic relationships. God also does not give up on people who have moved away from Him, but continues to seek them with patience and mercy. Therefore, we are called to pray for others, to meet them with Christlike love, and to point to Jesus through our lives. If we remain rooted in His love, God can use us to lead others closer to Him.
