๐ The King is coming soon โ Hope beyond the end
๐ February 28 โ Living in the Light of Eternity โ Ready for the King
Monthly Theme: The Great Controversy โ The Conflict Between Good and Evil
Yearly Theme 2026: โSoon the King Is Coming โ Hope Beyond the Endโ
๐ Central Bible Verse of the Day
โTherefore you also be ready;
for the Son of Man is coming at an hour you do not expect.โ
โ Matthew 24:44
๐ Devotion of the Day
The month is ending โ
but the hope remains:
The King is coming soon.
All prophetic lines,
all battles of faith,
all the longings of human hearts
lead to this one goal:
Jesus Christ will return.
But the greatest question is not: When will He come?
Rather: Are we ready?
โLet your waist be girded and your lamps burning.โ
โ Luke 12:35
Readiness does not mean fear,
but a life of trusting expectation.
Like people who know
that their beloved King is on His way.
Ellen G. White wrote:
โChrist desires His people to live in joyful expectation.
Watchfulness does not mean fear,
but faithful devotion in daily life.โ
(Maranatha, p. 356)
โจ Living with Eternity in View
Whoever lives in the light of eternity
reorders today.
Small worries lose their power,
earthly successes lose their shine,
when we know that an eternal home awaits us.
โFor here we have no continuing city,
but we seek the one to come.โ
โ Hebrews 13:14
This does not mean leaving the world โ
but seeing it with the eyes of heaven.
Every encounter can have eternal significance.
Ellen G. White wrote:
โThe hope of Christโs return
purifies the life and lifts the thoughts upward.
It makes the Christian serious, yet joyful.โ
(The Great Controversy, p. 299)
๐ฟ To Be Ready Means: Living with Christ
Readiness is not perfection,
but relationship.
The wise virgins had oil โ
a symbol of the Holy Spirit (Matthew 25).
They did not merely wait,
they lived in constant connection with God.
โAbide in Me, and I in you.โ
โ John 15:4
Whoever walks daily with Christ
will not be surprised when He comes.
Ellen G. White wrote:
โThe preparation for Christโs return does not happen in a moment,
but in daily walking with Jesus.โ
(Christโs Object Lessons, p. 420)
๐๏ธ Hope That Sustains
The world is full of uncertainty,
but the hope of the gospel remains firm.
โThis hope we have as an anchor of the soul,
both sure and steadfast.โ
โ Hebrews 6:19
Looking to the returning King
gives strength in trials,
courage in darkness,
and peace in the midst of the storm.
The hope of the Second Coming is not an escape from reality,
but the deepest foundation for faithful living today.
๐ The Final Call
The Bible ends with an invitation:
โAnd the Spirit and the bride say, โCome!โ
โฆ And let him who thirsts come.โ
โ Revelation 22:17
And Christ answers:
โSurely I am coming quickly.โ
โ Revelation 22:20
This is the final promise of Scripture โ
and the last word of hope.
Ellen G. White wrote:
โThe second coming of Christ is the golden chain
that binds together all the promises of God.โ
(The Great Controversy, p. 299)
๐ Prayer
Dear Father in heaven,
thank You for the hope of Jesusโ soon return.
Teach me to live in the light of eternity
and to shape each day in faithfulness.
Keep my heart awake,
my love alive,
and my faith strong.
Let me be ready
when the heavens open
and the King appears.
Amen.
๐ญ Thought for the Day
โThose who wait for Christโs return
do not live in fear of the future,
but in joy at the coming of their Friend.โ
โ Ellen G. White, Maranatha, p. 361
