π Still awake?
Every evening, a little closer to Jesus.
π July 22
π God Is with You
π Matthew 1:22β23
βBehold, the virgin shall conceive and give birth to a son, and they shall call his name Immanuel,β which means, βGod with us.β
Matthew 1:23
Sometimes God feels far away.
Then we pray.
But everything seems to remain silent.
We read the Bible.
Yet we feel nothing.
Do you know moments like that?
Then read this verse once more:
βImmanuelβGod with us.β
Not:
βGod is with you when everything is going well.β
Not:
βGod is with you when you do everything right.β
But simply:
βGod is with us.β
That is the message of Christmas.
And, really, the message of the whole Bible.
God never wanted to remain far away.
That is why Jesus came.
He became one of us.
He knew joy.
He knew tears.
He knew tiredness.
He knew loneliness.
That is why He understands you too.
Perhaps God will not immediately change your situation today.
But He gives you something even more precious:
His presence.
And sometimes that is the greatest miracle of all.
π Think About It
When was the last time you felt alone?
How does the thought βGod is with meβ change the way you see that situation?
π Prayer
Dear Papa,
Thank You for not remaining far away.
Thank You that Jesus came to us as Immanuel.
When I feel alone, remind me that You are with me.
Help me trust Your nearness more than my feelings.
Thank You that I never walk alone.
Amen.
π Sleep well.
Your loving Papa is with you.
Tonight. Tomorrow. And every new day.
See you tomorrow.
