βCome out of her, my people, so that you will not share in her sins and so that you will not receive any of her plagues.β
β Revelation 18:4
π Devotional for the Day
The message about the fall of Babylon does not stop with the declaration, βBabylon has fallen.β God goes one step further. He calls His children to come out of her. This call is solemn, but it is full of love. It shows that God does not simply leave people in confusion. He sees sincere hearts that are searching for truth and invites them to follow His light.
The expression βmy peopleβ is especially moving. God does not speak coldly or distantly. He does not simply say, βCome out,β but, βmy people.β This means that God knows, loves, and protects people even where spiritual confusion exists. He sees beyond outward affiliation. He sees the heart. He knows those who sincerely long for Him, even if they have not yet recognized the full light.
This truth protects us from pride. Those who understand the message about the fall of Babylon must not look down on others or judge them with a sense of superiority. Godβs call out of Babylon is not a call to arrogance, but to humility. We must recognize that every person needs Godβs light and that truth must always be joined with love.
At the same time, this call is very clear. God does not want His children to remain in a system that mixes truth with error, promotes false worship, or leads people away from Christ and His Word. Love does not mean leaving everything as it is. Grace does not mean tolerating confusion. Godβs love calls people out because it longs to save them.
To be called out of Babylon means taking a fresh stand on the Word of God. It means trusting Christ more than human tradition. It means valuing truth above comfort. It means following Godβs call even when that path requires courage, separation, or new decisions.
β¨ God Knows His Children
God does not see only systems, doctrines, and outward forms. He sees people. He knows their questions, their sincerity, their search, and their inner struggles. That is why His call is personal and loving.
Ellen G. White wrote:
βGod has children in Babylon; and before His judgments come, these faithful ones will be called out.β
(The Great Controversy, p. 390)
This statement reveals the heart of God. He does not want to lose anyone who is willing to follow His voice. His call is not a sign of rejection, but of faithful love.
πΏ Called to the Truth
The call out of Babylon is a call to clarity. God does not call His children out of something in order to leave them without direction. He calls them to Christ, to His Word, to true worship, and to a life of faithfulness.
Ellen G. White wrote:
βThe final message of grace is to lead people out of error and darkness and place them in the clear light of the Word of God.β
(The Great Controversy, p. 604)
Godβs truth may be uncomfortable, but it sets us free. It leads us away from human security and toward the firm foundation of Scripture. Those who follow Godβs call do not lose their hope; they find it more deeply in Christ.
ποΈ Following Godβs Call
Sometimes God calls people out of outward systems. At other times, however, He also calls them out of inner attitudes: half-heartedness, fear of people, habit, false security, or compromise. That is why the call out of Babylon always begins in our own hearts as well.
We may ask God: Is there anything in my life that is drawing me away from Your truth? Are there beliefs, habits, or attachments that I hold on to more firmly than Your Word? Is there an area in which I have already recognized the light, but still hesitate to follow it?
Godβs call is solemn, but it is never unloving. When He calls us out, He also leads us in: into fellowship with Christ, into truth, into freedom, and into faithfulness. The coming King is calling His people so that they may be ready to meet Him with pure hearts.
π Prayer
Dear Father in heaven,
Thank You for knowing Your children and calling them with love.
Help me to hear Your voice clearly and to follow it faithfully.
Protect me from spiritual confusion, false security, and compromise with error.
Give me humility so that I will not judge others, but will share Your truth in love.
Lead me fully to Christ, to Your Word, and to true worship.
Amen.
π Thought for the Day

What touches you about the words βmy peopleβ? - Pray: βLord, help me to follow Your call without hesitation.β
- In practice: Honestly examine today whether there is an area in which you have already recognized Godβs truth but are not yet living fully according to it.
