π The King Is Coming Soon β Hope Beyond the End
βοΈ April 12 β Two Will Be in the Field: Personal Decision
Monthly Theme: The Signs of the Times β Watching and Praying
Yearly Theme 2026: βThe King Is Coming Soon β Hope Beyond the Endβ
π Central Bible Text of the Day
βThen two will be in the field; one will be taken and the other left.β
β Matthew 24:40
π Devotional of the Day
Jesus describes a very personal scene:
Two people in the same place,
in the same daily life,
with seemingly similar lives.
But in the end, there is a difference.
One is taken β the other is not.
These words show:
The decision for or against God is personal.
β¨ Closeness Does Not Replace Relationship
External closeness to spiritual things
does not automatically mean a true connection with Christ.
One can:
- know the Bible
- have religious habits
- be part of a community
and still be inwardly distant.
βThis people honors Me with their lips,
but their heart is far from Me.β
β Matthew 15:8
Ellen G. White wrote:
βNot outward affiliation, but personal devotion determines eternal destiny.β
(The Great Controversy, p. 601)
πΏ Each One Decides Personally
No one can believe for another.
Not family, not friends, not the church.
Faith is a personal relationship.
βSo then each of us shall give account of himself to God.β
β Romans 14:12
This truth is serious β
but also liberating.
Because everyone has the opportunity to choose God.
ποΈ Today Is the Day
Jesus does not only speak about the future,
but calls for a decision today.
βToday, if you hear His voice,
do not harden your hearts.β
β Hebrews 3:15
Every day is a new opportunity,
to live consciously with God.
π Being Ready in the Heart
Readiness does not mean perfection,
but a living connection with Christ.
It is a heart that says:
βLord, I belong to You.β
Ellen G. White wrote:
βOnly those who live in personal communion with Christ will be ready when He comes.β
(Maranatha, p. 227)
π Prayer
Dear Heavenly Father,
thank You for knowing and loving me personally.
Help me not to live only outwardly,
but with all my heart with You.
Show me where I can draw closer to You,
and strengthen my decision for You.
Let my relationship with You be real and alive.
Amen.
π Thought for the Day
βThe most important decision is the personal decision for Christ.β
β Ellen G. White
π‘ Personal Application
- Read Matthew 24:36β44.
What does this passage tell you about personal responsibility? - Pray: βLord, today I choose You again.β
- Practical: Take time today for a personal encounter with God.
πΊ Closing Verse
βBehold, now is the accepted time; behold, now is the day of salvation.β
β 2 Corinthians 6:2
