πŸ‘‘ The King Is Coming Soon – Hope Beyond the End

βš–οΈ April 12 – Two Will Be in the Field: Personal Decision

Monthly Theme: The Signs of the Times – Watching and Praying
Yearly Theme 2026: β€œThe King Is Coming Soon – Hope Beyond the End”

πŸ“– Central Bible Text of the Day

β€œThen two will be in the field; one will be taken and the other left.”
β€” Matthew 24:40

πŸŒ… Devotional of the Day

Jesus describes a very personal scene:
Two people in the same place,
in the same daily life,
with seemingly similar lives.

But in the end, there is a difference.

One is taken β€” the other is not.

These words show:
The decision for or against God is personal.

✨ Closeness Does Not Replace Relationship

External closeness to spiritual things
does not automatically mean a true connection with Christ.

One can:

  • know the Bible
  • have religious habits
  • be part of a community

and still be inwardly distant.

β€œThis people honors Me with their lips,
but their heart is far from Me.”

β€” Matthew 15:8

Ellen G. White wrote:
β€œNot outward affiliation, but personal devotion determines eternal destiny.”
(The Great Controversy, p. 601)

🌿 Each One Decides Personally

No one can believe for another.
Not family, not friends, not the church.

Faith is a personal relationship.

β€œSo then each of us shall give account of himself to God.”
β€” Romans 14:12

This truth is serious β€”
but also liberating.

Because everyone has the opportunity to choose God.

πŸ•ŠοΈ Today Is the Day

Jesus does not only speak about the future,
but calls for a decision today.

β€œToday, if you hear His voice,
do not harden your hearts.”

β€” Hebrews 3:15

Every day is a new opportunity,
to live consciously with God.

πŸŒ„ Being Ready in the Heart

Readiness does not mean perfection,
but a living connection with Christ.

It is a heart that says:
β€œLord, I belong to You.”

Ellen G. White wrote:
β€œOnly those who live in personal communion with Christ will be ready when He comes.”
(Maranatha, p. 227)

πŸ™ Prayer

Dear Heavenly Father,
thank You for knowing and loving me personally.

Help me not to live only outwardly,
but with all my heart with You.

Show me where I can draw closer to You,
and strengthen my decision for You.

Let my relationship with You be real and alive.

Amen.

πŸ’ Thought for the Day

β€œThe most important decision is the personal decision for Christ.”
β€” Ellen G. White

πŸ’‘ Personal Application

  1. Read Matthew 24:36–44.
What does this passage tell you about personal responsibility?
  2. Pray: β€œLord, today I choose You again.”
  3. Practical: Take time today for a personal encounter with God.

🌺 Closing Verse

β€œBehold, now is the accepted time; behold, now is the day of salvation.”
