Annual theme 2026: β€œSoon the King Is Coming – Hope Beyond the End”

πŸ“– Central Bible Text of the Day

β€œFear God and give Him glory, for the hour of His judgment has come.”
β€” Revelation 14:7

πŸŒ… Devotional of the Day

The message of the first angel calls humanity to a decision. It begins with the everlasting gospel and then leads to a clear appeal: β€œFear God and give Him glory.” These words are serious, but they are not cold or threatening. They invite people to give God once again the place that belongs to Him.

To fear God in the Bible does not mean living in panicked fear of Him. It means acknowledging Him with reverence, taking His greatness seriously, and entrusting ourselves to His will. This reverence grows where we recognize His character. Whoever sees God only as a strict judge will hide from Him. But whoever recognizes His love, justice, and grace will want to honor Him.

In a world where people often place themselves at the center, this call is especially important. Giving glory to God means making Him the center of life. It means not living for one’s own reputation, but for His name. It means making visible in decisions, words, and actions that God is Lord.

The hour of His judgment has come; therefore this message is urgent. Yet its urgency is not meant to frighten us, but to awaken us. God does not call us into despair, but back to Himself.

✨ Reverence Instead of Fear

Reverence for God does not lead us away from Him, but closer to Him. It makes the heart attentive to His voice and ready for His guidance.

Ellen G. White wrote:

β€œTrue fear of God does not lead to fear of God, but to reverence, love, and obedience.”

(Christ’s Object Lessons, p. 304)

This reverence is the foundation of a life that honors God.

🌿 Giving Glory to God

Giving glory to God means more than praising Him with our lips. It means reflecting His character in everyday life. When we act honestly, show mercy, forgive, and remain faithful, God’s nature becomes visible.

Ellen G. White wrote:

β€œGod is honored when His character becomes visible in the lives of His children.”

(Christ’s Object Lessons, p. 415)

Therefore, the judgment calls us not only to a doctrine, but to a life that reflects God’s glory.

πŸ•ŠοΈ A Life Before the Face of God

Whoever fears God and gives Him glory lives consciously. He knows that his life has meaning before God. Yet this attitude is not marked by fear, but by trust.

We do not honor God in order to earn His love. We honor Him because we have received His love.

πŸ™ Prayer

Dear Father in heaven,

teach me to recognize You with true reverence.

Help me to give You gloryβ€”not only with words, but with my whole life.

Keep me from placing myself at the center.

Let Your nature become visible in my thinking, speaking, and actions.

Lead me into a life that honors You and is prepared for Your coming.

Amen.
