❤️📖 FROM THE HEART | 15.05.2026 | All Things New | Pastor Erton Köhler

At dawn, after a long night of rain, the horizon glowed with colors that no darkness could contain. That moment when light breaks through the darkness reflects the promise of God, who makes all things new. It is not poetic wishful thinking, but divine assurance that life can begin again after sorrow, fear, and weariness. “Behold, I make all things new” (Revelation 21:5). This promise reaches into the deepest parts of our human experience. It speaks to hearts that have lost hope, to communities seeking renewal, and to lives waiting to be restored.

“Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; old things have passed away; behold, all things have become new” (2 Corinthians 5:17). This renewal is not only about the future final restoration, but also about the present work of God in and through His followers. Mission is the movement of God’s heart into the world. It includes education, service, healing, reconciliation, and proclamation. Renewal restores hope. Renewal revives purpose. Renewal motivates believers to become channels of God’s redeeming love.

The worldwide mission of the Seventh-day Adventist Church reflects this commitment to renewal in many concrete ways. In Bulgaria, educators and leaders gathered in Sofia for the first national Adventist education conference — a historic moment that demonstrated renewed commitment to mission and future generations. In Rwanda, pastors, lay members, and volunteers united in evangelistic meetings where many people chose baptism. In the United States, the Seventh-day Adventist Church launched “Pentecost 2025,” calling every church to unite in prayer, Bible preaching, and evangelistic outreach with the purpose of preparing people for the soon return of Jesus. In Bali, Indonesia, Adventist churches united for an island-wide revival, holding eight simultaneous meetings to share the message of hope and salvation.

Our mission is not only to explain the promise that God makes all things new, but also to demonstrate it in the way we teach, serve, and proclaim Christ’s soon return. The world deeply needs this message because people everywhere long for purpose, peace, and a hope that cannot be shaken.

About the Series

From the Heart is a weekly devotional series in which Pastor Köhler reflects on what it means to be rooted in the Word of the Bible and focused on mission — together and personally. Each episode is based on the four pillars of the strategic plan of the Seventh-day Adventist Church: communion with God, identity in Christ, unity through the Holy Spirit, and mission for all.

The series connects biblical faith with everyday life and shares brief reflections and insights into how God is working through Adventists around the world.

Pastor Erton Köhler is President of the General Conference of the worldwide Seventh-day Adventist Church.
