π The King is coming soon β Hope beyond the end
π―οΈ March 30 β Living in the light of the Second Coming: Daniel as a model of expectation
Monthly theme: Daniel: The God who directs history β faithfulness in the fire of testing
Year theme 2026: βSoon the King is coming β hope beyond the endβ
π Central Bible verse of the day
βBut you, go your way till the end; you shall rest, and will arise to your inheritance at the end of the days.β
β Daniel 12:13
π Devotional of the day
Daniel received visions about the end of world history.
He saw kingdoms rise and fall,
judgment and redemption,
conflict and final victory.
But God did not give him the task
to control every detail.
Instead, He simply said:
βGo your way till the end.β
That means:
Live faithfully while you wait.
For Daniel, the expectation of the Second Coming was not an escape from daily life,
but a motivation for a steadfast life.
β¨ Hope changes life
Daniel lived with an eternal perspective.
He knew that Godβs kingdom would come.
This hope made him:
- faithful in service
- courageous in trials
- humble in success
βFor our citizenship is in heaven,
from which we also eagerly wait for the Lord Jesus Christ.β
β Philippians 3:20
Ellen G. White wrote:
βThe expectation of Christβs coming elevates the life and purifies the character.β
(The Great Controversy, p. 299)
πΏ Faithfulness today
Daniel did not wait passively for Godβs intervention.
He prayed, served, and remained faithful.
The hope of Jesusβ Second Coming does not call us to withdraw,
but to a life full of dedication.
Every day becomes meaningful
when we see it in the light of eternity.
ποΈ Rest in trust
God promised Daniel rest β
a picture of death as sleep β
and finally resurrection.
This shows:
Our life is safe in Godβs hands,
even if we do not personally see the end.
Ellen G. White wrote:
βThose who rest in faith will awaken on the morning of the resurrection to meet Christ.β
(Maranatha, p. 302)
π A model for the last generation
Daniel combines faithfulness in daily life with a strong prophetic awareness.
He lived in a pagan culture,
yet his heart was focused on Godβs kingdom.
We are also invited
to live this way β awake, faithful, and hopeful.
π Prayer
Dear Heavenly Father,
thank You for the hope of Jesusβ Second Coming.
Help me to live faithfully like Daniel
while I wait for the fulfillment of Your promises.
Give me perseverance in daily life
and a heart that remains focused on Your kingdom.
Let me live each day in the light of eternity.
Amen.
π Thought for the day
βThose who wait for Christβs coming live differently today.β
β Ellen G. White
