📍 Introduction

In 1 Chronicles chapter 7, more tribes of Israel are described, especially Issachar, Benjamin, Naphtali, Manasseh, Ephraim, and Asher. It is a chapter that shows the strength, structure, and readiness of the people—especially in terms of warfare and community.

🧵 Commentary

The names continue, but this time there is a special emphasis on the strength of the men. Again and again, it is highlighted how many “mighty warriors” or “valiant men” come from these tribes. It is as if a picture is forming: a people who are not only growing but are also ready to stand firm.

The tribe of Issachar is described as numerous and strong—men who understand what to do and are ready to act. Benjamin also appears powerful, with a large number of experienced warriors.

But in the midst of these lists, a moment of sorrow appears. In the line of Ephraim, a loss occurs—sons die, and pain enters the story. For a moment, the narrative pauses. It shows that behind all the strength, there is also vulnerability.

And yet, the line continues. Despite loss, despite pain—life does not stop. New generations arise, new hope grows. The tribe of Asher is finally described as blessed and strong, full of men ready for battle.

The chapter paints a picture of balance: strength and sorrow, growth and loss, preparation and trust. It shows a people who live, fight, suffer—and still move forward.

📘 Blog 6: 🏗️ A Plan – and God’s Answer

Not everything good is God’s assignment

━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━

📍 Introduction

David has a good desire—but God has a better plan.

⋯⋯⋯⋯⋯⋯⋯⋯⋯⋯◆⋯⋯⋯⋯⋯⋯⋯⋯⋯⋯

🧵 Commentary

David lives in a palace. The ark stands in a tent.

This does not feel right to him. He wants to build a house for God.

Nathan initially agrees. But God says: no.

Not out of rejection—but out of perspective.

David has fought wars. His son will build—a man of peace.

And then God gives David something greater:
David does not build a house for God—God builds a house for David. A promise. A future. A kingdom that continues.

⋯⋯⋯⋯⋯⋯⋯⋯⋯⋯◆⋯⋯⋯⋯⋯⋯⋯⋯⋯⋯

🧺 Summary

David is not allowed to build the temple but receives a great promise.

🔦 Message for us today

God’s “no” is often the beginning of something greater.
