π± GROWING IN A RELATIONSHIP WITH GOD
β¨ A Journey with God β from Awakening to Eternity
This quarter was more than a collection of Bible topics. It was a journey. A journey of the heart. The journey of a person who seeks God, gets to know Him better, wrestles with Him, grows, falls, rises again, and finally fixes their eyes on eternity.
Everything began with a reality check.
π Lesson 1 β Reality Check
We were reminded that we live in a fallen world. Nothing is as God originally planned it to be. Sin, suffering, death, and brokenness are part of the human experience. Yet this is exactly where the spiritual journey begins: when we recognize that we need God. Whoever recognizes their own need opens their heart to Godβs work.
β€οΈ Lesson 2 β Knowing God
After recognizing that we need God, the most important question of life arises: Who is God really? Not merely knowledge about God, but a personal relationship with Him transforms our life. God is not a distant ruler. He is a loving Father, a Redeemer, and a Friend. To know Him means life.
πΏ Lesson 3 β Pride or Humility
But in order to truly know God, something must happen in our heart. Pride separates us from God, while humility opens us to His grace. The Bible shows again and again that God is close to the humble. True spiritual growth begins where we stop placing ourselves at the center and give Christ first place.
π Lesson 4 β The Role of the Bible
How does God speak to us? Above all, through His Word. The Bible is not simply an old book full of information. It is Godβs living voice for our life. It reveals His character, His will, and His plan for our salvation. Whoever wants to grow must learn to listen to Godβs voice.
π Lesson 5 β How to Study the Bible
It is not enough to read the Bible only occasionally. We learned to study it carefully, prayerfully, and with an open heart. Godβs Word does not only want to inform our mind, but to transform our heart. The Bible becomes the compass that guides us through the challenges of life.
π Lesson 6 β Prayer Warriors
Then the quarter led us deeper into the world of prayer. Prayer is far more than reciting words. It is fellowship with God. It is opening our heart before the Creator of the universe. In prayer we do not fight against God, but together with Him against the powers that want to separate us from Him.
π€² Lesson 7 β Prayer in Practice
But prayer must not remain theory. It must become part of our daily life. We learned that prayer is possible in every situation β in joy and suffering, in success and failure. Whoever speaks regularly with God develops a deeper familiarity with Him. A duty becomes a relationship.
β¨ Lesson 8 β Having Faith
Trust grows out of prayer and Godβs Word. Faith does not mean understanding everything. Faith means trusting God even when we do not see everything. Many heroes of faith in the Bible moved forward without knowing the whole path. We too are invited to take God at His word and trust Him.
βοΈ Lesson 9 β Sin, the Gospel, and the Law
Then we were confronted with a decisive truth: the problem of sin. Godβs law shows us what is right and reveals our condition. But the law cannot save. For that, we need the gospel. At the cross, Godβs justice and His love meet. There we recognize how serious sin is β and how great Godβs grace is.
π§ Lesson 10 β Repentance and Forgiveness
When the Holy Spirit touches our heart, He leads us to repentance. True repentance is more than regret. It is the willingness to turn away from sin and return to God. There we encounter forgiveness. God does not only take away our guilt, but clothes us with the robe of Christβs righteousness. Guilt becomes freedom.
π Lesson 11 β Setbacks
Yet even as Christians, we are not spared difficult times. Storms come. Illnesses come. Losses come. Questions come. Job, the disciples in the storm, and the disciples on the road to Emmaus showed us that God remains faithful even when we do not understand Him. Setbacks do not mean that God has abandoned us. Often, it is precisely there that we encounter Him most deeply.
π£οΈ Lesson 12 β Speak of God
Whoever has experienced Godβs love cannot keep it to themselves. Witnessing does not begin with perfect arguments, but with a transformed life. People should see something of Jesus in us. We were reminded that Godβs work happens through love, never through force. Our task is to tell others about Jesus β God gives the growth.
π Lesson 13 β Into Eternity
And finally, our eyes were directed toward the goal of the entire journey. Everything points to this moment: Jesus is coming again. The redeemed will see Him face to face. The New Jerusalem will come down. Every tear will be wiped away. There will be no more suffering, no sin, and no death. The Lamb will lead His people, and Godβs children will dwell with Him forever.
π The Common Thread of the Whole Quarter
If this quarter had to be summarized in a few words, perhaps it would be like this:
God calls us.
We learn to know Him.
We humble ourselves before Him.
We listen to His Word.
We speak with Him in prayer.
We learn to trust.
We recognize our sin.
We receive forgiveness.
We endure through trials.
We tell others about His love.
And finally, we live with the hope of eternity.
The journey of faith begins with the recognition of our need and ends with meeting Jesus face to face.
Until then, our daily prayer remains:
Lord, let me grow in You. Teach me to trust You. Shape my heart. Hold me firmly. And lead me step by step on the way, until I see You.
βYes, I am coming soon.β β βAmen. Come, Lord Jesus!β (Revelation 22:20)
