π Lesson 13: Into Eternity
β¨ Living with the Hope of Jesusβ Return
Introduction:
The final lesson of this quarter directs our eyes to the glorious future God has prepared for His children. While we live in a world full of challenges, suffering, and uncertainty, the Bible reminds us that our true home is not here, but with God. Jesus is preparing a place for the redeemed and will soon return to take them to Himself. The promise of seeing Him face to face gives strength and endurance to our faith. This hope changes not only our view of the future but also our lives today. Until that great day, Jesus invites us to follow Him faithfully and hold firmly to His eternal promise.

β³ 13.1 Living Today
Living every day in the presence of God
The Bible reminds us that we live in a world moving toward the end of its history. In the face of crises, uncertainty, and the passing nature of life, God invites us to deepen our relationship with Him and not postpone it until tomorrow. Psalm 80 is a moving cry for revival, help, and Godβs saving presence. Its words show how much we need Godβs grace and guidance every day. When God makes His face shine upon us, it means His love, acceptance, forgiveness, and closeness in our lives. Our hope does not rest in our own righteousness, but in Jesus Christ alone, whose grace sustains us today and for eternity.
π 13.2 Finally Face to Face
The greatest hope of Christians: seeing Jesus personally
Since the fall into sin, humanity has longed for the restoration of fellowship with God. The Bible describes the glorious moment when Jesus returns in power and glory and takes His children to Himself. Then the dead in Christ will rise, the living will be transformed, and together they will go to meet their Redeemer. All the struggles, tears, and trials of this world will fade in the light of His presence. The greatest joy of the redeemed will not only be the end of suffering, but seeing Jesus Himself face to face. This hope gives us strength today to remain faithful and to trust in the fulfillment of His promises.
π° 13.3 The Bride
The New Jerusalem β the eternal home of the redeemed
In Revelation 21, the New Jerusalem is described as a beautiful bride adorned for her bridegroom. This image illustrates the deep love, joy, and intimate fellowship that God has prepared for His people. The bride represents both the saints and the Holy City, because Godβs people and His eternal kingdom are inseparably connected. John describes a glory of light, precious stones, and divine presence that far exceeds our imagination. Because we still live in a fallen world, we can only partly grasp the beauty and perfection of that place. Nevertheless, this promise gives us hope and directs our eyes toward eternity, where we will live forever with God.
π 13.4 Follow the Lamb
Following Jesus β today and for eternity
The Bible describes heaven with many wonderful promises: no more suffering, no pain, no tears, and no death. Yet the greatest joy of the redeemed will be to see Jesus personally and thank Him for His salvation. He is the βLamb of God,β who gave His life for us, and at the same time our Good Shepherd, who leads us safely. Those who will follow Him in eternity are already learning today to trust His way and follow Him. Godβs people are marked by having Jesus at the center of their thoughts and lives. Eternity will not only be a perfect place, but above all an uninterrupted fellowship with the Lamb, who will lead us forever to the springs of life.
πͺ 13.5 βCome!β
Jesusβ final invitation to humanity
The final pages of the Bible contain a simple but powerful invitation: βCome!β Jesus invites every person to come to Him, find rest, and receive the water of life freely. This invitation is not only for the future, but for every day of our lives. Whoever comes to Christ will not be rejected by Him, but accepted, sustained, and led to eternal life. At the same time, we too are called to invite others into this saving relationship with Jesus. The hope of His soon return gives us courage to persevere in faith and to pray with longing: βAmen, come, Lord Jesus!β
β¨ 13.6 Summary
The hope of eternal fellowship with God
Lesson 13 directs our eyes to the great goal of faith: eternal fellowship with God. In a passing world marked by suffering, Jesus invites us to live even today in a close relationship with Him and to hope for His return. The Bible describes the glorious future of the redeemed, when they will see Jesus face to face and live with Him forever. The New Jerusalem, the marriage supper of the Lamb, and the new earth reveal Godβs perfect plan for His people. The greatest joy of eternity will not only be the end of pain and death, but the personal presence of Jesus. Until then, His invitation stands for every person: βCome!β β and the promise remains: βYes, I am coming soon.β
