πŸ‘‚ Jesus Listens First

πŸ“– Luke 24:17–19

β€œWhat are you discussing together as you walk along?”
Luke 24:17

Have you ever noticed that Jesus knew everything?

He knew why the two disciples were sad.

He knew what had happened.

He even knew what was going on in their hearts.

And yet, He asked a question.

β€œWhat are you talking about?”

Why?

Because Jesus does not only want to give answers.

He wants to listen first.

The two disciples told Him everything. Their disappointment. Their hope. Their questions.

Jesus did not interrupt them.

He let them finish speaking.

Sometimes we think we have to hide our feelings from God.

Our doubts.

Our anger.

Our fear.

But Jesus is not afraid of our questions.

He invites us to be honest.

You do not have to pretend that everything is okay.

You are allowed to tell Him what is moving your heart.

He listens.

Not because He does not know the answer.

But because you matter to Him.

Maybe that is exactly what tonight is about.

Not many words.

No perfect wording.

Just being honest.

Jesus listens.

πŸ’ Think About It

What would you tell Jesus today if He were walking beside you?

πŸ™ Prayer

Dear Father,

thank You that I do not have to pretend with You.

You know my heart, and still You listen to me.

Help me to speak honestly with You β€” about my joy, my worries, and my questions.

Thank You that I may always come to You.

Amen.

πŸŒ™ Sleep well.

Your dear Father hears you β€” even when no one else is listening.

See you tomorrow.
